Genshin Impact Leaks New 5-Star Character for Version 6.5

According to a reliable source, Genshin Impact is adding its next major Support character in Version 6.5, with Linnea set to join the playable cast as a 5-Star Geo Bow. Genshin Impact has introduced Varka in Version 6.4, a dedicated hypercarry for the Hexerei with a dual Claymore playstyle. While his damage numbers leave a lot to be desired, Varka’s popularity has held strong on his debut banner, with many of his fans excited to complete his premium team with the upcoming Nicole. Whereas Version 6.6 is expected to be a major Hexerei update, Version 6.5 will instead take a detour back to the bread-and-butter of Nod-Krai – its Lunar Reactions.

Much like Varesa in Natlan, Linnea has subtly been foreshadowed as a playable Genshin Impact character via anecdotes, voice lines, and throwaway dialogue. Despite being a Fae, her personality is bright and energetic, contrasting with the reserved, gentlemanly charm of Flins. In terms of gameplay, she is expected to take Lunar-Crystallize a step further, making her an ideal teammate for Geo hypercarries such as Zibai or Navia.

Genshin Impact Leaks Banner Characters for Version 6.5

Genshin Impact is bringing some major reruns in Version 6.5, but it may also feature the debut of a powerful 5-Star Geo Support for Nod-Krai teams.

Genshin Impact: Linnea Overview

  • Name: Linnea
  • Rarity: 5-Star
  • Element: Geo
  • Weapon: Bow

Ability Kit Breakdown

  • Deals off-field Geo damage via her companion, Lumi.
  • Provides team healing via her Elemental Burst.
  • Gives buffs to Elemental Mastery and Lunar-Crystallize damage.
  • Shreds Geo resistance up to 50% (with Geo resonance).
  • Continuous uptime on buffs, shred, and off-field damage.
  • No team restrictions, but favors Geo and Hydro teammates.

As revealed by Seele Leaks and Dimbreath through the beta for Version 6.5, Linnea is a 5-Star Geo Bow character with an ability kit designed around supporting Geo-Crystallize teams. Linnea provides healing, resistance shred to Geo, a buff to Elemental Mastery and Lunar-Crystallize damage, and decent off-field Geo application. As a result, beta testers have tentatively compared her to a Geo version of Escoffier, who remains one of the best Support characters in Genshin Impact. In terms of appearance, Linnea’s model uses the Medium Female frame, and has a stylish red, white, and pink color scheme – breaking from Geo’s usual earthy tones.

Linnea’s ability kit is fairly straightforward. Tapping her Elemental Skill summons her companion, Lumi, who deals continuous Geo damage. Tapping it repeatedly causes Linnea to feed Lumi, causing Lumi to enter a special state that deals a single, powerful instance of Lunar-Crystallize damage. Lumi always deals area-of-effect damage. Linnea’s Elemental Burst provides a single instance of team healing and continuous healing to the active character. Both Lumi’s damage and Linnea’s healing scale with DEF, making Linnea remarkably easy to build as far as Artifacts in Genshin Impact are concerned.

In terms of synergy, Linnea will almost assuredly find a role in Zibai’s team, given that Zibai is a dedicated Lunar-Crystallize hypercarry. However, Linnea can also pair well with older Geo hypercarries such as Navia, especially if accompanied by Columbina. Curiously, Linnea has no team restrictions, making her more flexible than Escoffier in theory. She is likely intended to be the Lauma equivalent of Lunar-Crystallize, with both characters forming a powerful Lunar Reaction core with Columbina in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact players can expect Linnea to become playable in the first half of Version 6.5, accompanied by either Lauma, Chasca, or Nefer. While it remains to be seen which 4-Star characters in Genshin Impact will feature on her debut banner, Linnea’s trial team consists of her, Aino, Illuga, and Ningguang. With Nicole and Lohen expected to release in Version 6.6, and Sandrone expected to make her debut in Version 6.7, there is a possibility that Linnea will be the last Lunar 5-Star in Nod-Krai’s content cycle.

Official footage of Linnea’s gameplay is expected for March 27, 2026, during the Special Program Announcement for Version 6.5. It is too early to tell how popular Linnea will be compared to other Genshin Impact Support characters, but first impressions have largely been positive. Version 6.5 is set to launch on April 8, 2026, and will feature a new map expansion for the region of Mondstadt.
