Pokemon Fans Are Already Obsessed With Winds and Waves Starter Browt

Pokemon Winds and Waves fans online have wasted no time in sharing their love for Browt, the new Grass-type starter in the upcoming Generation 10 titles. Although Pokemon Winds and Waves were only just announced very recently, the community has been quick to show their appreciation for the new design.

Pokemon Winds and Waves were announced during the most recent Pokemon Presents, confirming a 2027 release window for the long-awaited Generation 10. Many thought that Game Freak might aim to release Gen 10 throughout 2026 to coincide with the franchise’s 30th anniversary, but the studio is instead taking the time needed to ensure Pokemon Winds and Waves are as good as possible. As part of the announcement, Game Freak also revealed the three new starter Pokemon: Browt (Grass-type), Pombon (Fire-type), and Gecqua (Water-type). All three designs have been received positively by fans, with Browt receiving particular attention from the community.

LEGO Fan Transforms Pokemon Gen 1 Starters into Mechs to Celebrate the Franchise’s 30th Anniversary

A talented LEGO fan online creates Pokemon’s iconic Generation 1 starters as mechs to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

Pokemon Fans Have Already Created Tons of Fan Art For Winds and Waves’ Grass Starter

There are tons of pieces of fan art online paying tribute to Browt already, with many offering up ideas as to what its evolutionary line could look like. During the game announcement, Game Freak did not reveal the evolutions for any of the Pokemon Winds and Waves starters, and fans have already taken up the mantle to speculate. This is sure to continue, even after the studio reveals the official evolutions. One design by Redditor inkdumpster even imagined what Browt could look like if its evolutionary line looked a lot like Blaziken, a Generation 3 favorite. It’s interesting to see how fans are imagining what these Pokemon might look like when evolved, and it will be cool to see how close some fans get to the real deal.

Browt in particular has been very popular among fans. Its adorable design is proving to be a major hit, with language learning app Duolingo even getting in on the fun and commenting on Browt’s similarities to its own green owl mascot. As more Pokemon from Winds and Waves are revealed, attention may turn elsewhere, but for now, it’s Browt that has seemingly caught the eye.

Starter Pokemon are always some of the most popular when it comes to fan creations. They are the Pokemon that players are introduced to at the start of every game, and in most instances, players will take their starters right to the end as part of their party. As a result, it’s easy to become attached to starter Pokemon, hence their overwhelming popularity. It’s early days, but it seems as though Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ new trio will be no different, especially if their evolutionary lines stick the landing with fans.

With 30 years of designs to draw influence from, Pokemon fans are some of the most creative of any community. Because it’s such a massive fan base, fans are always using their unique talents to pay tribute to the Pokemon franchise, and it really takes something outstanding to stand out from the crowd. The franchise is only growing in popularity, and the amount of fan art online certainly doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

As the franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary, it’s set to be a massive year for Pokemon fans. The fun starts in just a few days’ time when Pokemon Pokopia is released, as the series takes a stab at the life-simulation formula. The recent Pokemon Presents was a good look into what fans can expect from the next year of Pokemon games, even if Winds and Waves aren’t set to launch until 2027. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it.
