Battlefield 6 Confirms New Battle Royale Solos Mode for REDSEC

Battlefield 6 Confirms New Battle Royale Solos Mode for REDSEC

Battlefield Studios has provided fans with an update on future updates coming to Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, while also confirming that the highly requested Battle Royale Solos mode will be available to test between March 6 and 9. Similar to Call of Duty: Warzone, REDSEC is the free-to-play counterpart to Battlefield 6, but ever since its launch late last year, fans have been begging the developer to add a solos mode. Finally, after months of requests, it looks like the community’s wish is finally coming true.

While Battlefield 6 got off to a flying start when it released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC back in October, the shooter has been on a steady decline ever since. With fans having a lot to say about the game’s very first season, developer Battlefield Studios made the decision to delay Battlefield 6 Season 2 by an entire month. The studio said this allowed them to further refine and polish the content coming in the game’s second season, which eventually launched on February 17. Now, nearly two weeks later, Battlefield Studios has reflected on the update’s release and given fans new details on future changes and content.

Battlefield REDSEC Solo Mode Testing Opens This Weekend

In a lengthy new post on its website, Battlefield Studios gave fans a list of topics that it’s monitoring following the launch of Battlefield 6 Season 2, including movement, progression, and changes to Portal. The studio then confirmed that Battle Royale Solo testing will be coming to Battlefield REDSEC this weekend, between March 6 and 9. The mode will be a part of Battlefield Labs, an extensive testing process that fans usually need to apply to participate in. However, the studio has said that testing for the new Solo mode will be open to all players.

Of course, fans can expect some significant changes for the mode. According to Battlefield Studios, REDSEC‘s new Solo mode will differ from Quads and Duos in some key ways. First of all, there will be no squad revives or redeploy towers, but Second Chance will remain enabled. Missions are adjusted for single-player completion, with tuned rewards, and Class Training Path XP requirements have been adjusted to scale appropriately for a single-player experience. The studio has also said that vehicles, including tanks, will remain enabled for the upcoming playtest, as this will allow the developers to understand how combat vehicles impact pacing and late-game balance in a solo environment.

Aside from the upcoming Battle Royale Solo mode, Battlefield Studios has also provided further details on the new Nightfall update, which was revealed as part of Battlefield 6‘s Season 2 roadmap. The developer says that Nightfall will shift the battlefield in a way that changes how players move, communicate, and read the battlefield. Darkness is rolling in on a new map, sightlines will shrink, and audio becomes more important than ever. Players will also need to make use of the new Nightvision Goggles as they set foot into the new nighttime environment.

There will also be numerous improvements made with the Nightfall update, which arrives on March 17. Battlefield Studios says it will introduce targeted adjustments aimed at smoothing the overall progression pacing and reducing unnecessary grind, with Weapon Mastery progression set to feel faster and more consistent. The shooter’s ping system will also be adjusted following fan feedback, as the studio says it is planning broader refinements to the ping system focused on improving clarity, reducing visual noise, and strengthening squad readability.
