World of Warcraft Adds New Way to Get Old Mythic+ Keystone Mounts

World of Warcraft Adds New Way to Get Old Mythic+ Keystone Mounts

World of Warcraft is adding the new “Keystone Myth” chase achievement in Patch 12.0.5, which rewards old Mythic+ “Keystone Legend” or “Keystone Master” mounts from past seasons. This is the first time any of these mounts has been obtainable after their respective World of Warcraft seasons ended.

Mythic+ dungeons were first introduced in the Legion expansion. In these dungeons, fans must contend with challenging affixes and time limits as they push into higher Keystone levels, each of which increases enemy damage and health. In Battle for Azeroth Season 4, World of Warcraft introduced mount rewards for “Keystone Master,” an achievement awarded for reaching a Mythic+ Rating of 2000; then, in World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2, it added “Keystone Legend,” another achievement and mount unlocked at a Mythic+ Rating of 3000.

World of Warcraft Fans Discover How to Earn Midnight’s Most Evil Achievement

Fans discover how to earn one of World of Warcraft: Midnight’s most elusive achievements, but the method is not for the faint of heart.

New Mythic+ Achievement Rewards Old WoW Keystone Mounts

Now, in World of Warcraft Patch 12.0.5, Blizzard has added an even higher milestone for Mythic+ players to reach. “Keystone Myth” is a new achievement fans earn by reaching a Mythic+ Keystone Rating of 3400 in a season. However, rather than granting a brand-new mount, “Keystone Myth” grants a Timelost Saddle, which can be traded in for any of the 14 “Keystone Master” or “Keystone Legend” mounts from previous seasons. This is the first time these mounts have ever been made available again after their seasons in World of Warcraft came to an end.

Beyond these old mounts, a handful of new recolors will be available for players as well. World of Warcraft has revealed the High-Yield Shreddertank, a gold version of The War Within Season 2’s Shreddertank, and the Cerulean Deathwalker, a light blue variant of the Shadowlands Deathwalkers. Fans will have to check out the vendors to see if there are recolors of the other Keystone mounts, such as the Awakened Mindborer from Battle for Azeroth Season 4, the Armoredons from World of Warcraft: Dragonflight‘s Mythic+ seasons, the Diamond Mechsuit from The War Within Season 1, or the Void Flyers from The War Within Season 3.

Reaching 3400 Mythic+ Keystone Rating is no easy feat. If a character completes all eight seasonal dungeons with +16 keys within the time limit, they will hit 3400 exactly. Clearing Mythic+ dungeons at this level requires a great deal of coordination, skill, and gear score. That said, many players are saying World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 1 is the “easiest Mythic+ season in history,” so now is the perfect time to try reaching this high score.

“Keystone Myth” is not going to be a one-season achievement; future updates will have this seasonal chase goal and reward indefinitely. Additionally, fans can expect newer Mythic+ rewards, such as the Calamitous and Convalescent Carrion mounts from Midnight Season 1, to be added to the Timelost Saddle pool eventually. That said, Blizzard noted the 3400 Mythic+ Rating requirement may be adjusted in the future, which could make “Keystone Myth” harder to earn in later World of Warcraft seasons.
