The world of Pokemon Pokopia is filled with exploration and treasure. While helping your Pokemon friends, you might’ve found some Mysterious Slates as treasure or stumbled on a hidden puzzle wall. In this guide, we’ll explain how to collect and use Mysterious Slates to solve a hidden puzzle wall that rewards you with the mythical Pokemon, Mew.
How to collect Mysterious Slates in Pokopia
Mysterious Slates are found as buried treasure throughout the world of Pokopia. Just like other buried treasure in the game, Mysterious Slates are random drops from the blocks with the gold glow, as shown in the image above. There are 27 different Mysterious Slates in total, and these are used to complete a puzzle board.
You can find buried treasure blocks in all of the main map locations as well as on Drifloon’s Dream Islands. We recommended using the Dowsing Machine to help you find more buried treasure. Additionally, the gold glow of the blocks makes nighttime searching easier than daytime, but they can be found at any point in the day.
Reportedly, you can’t get duplicates of the Mysterious Slates until you first collect them all, so you don’t have to worry about getting stuck finding the same ones over and over. You shouldn’t start getting duplicates until after you have initially collected each of them, so hopefully this can help if you accidentally misplace one.
You’ll likely want a designated storage box to keep these Mysterious Slates, so they don’t get all jumbled up with your random materials and scattered across the various map locations.
How to find the puzzle wall in Pokopia

The hidden puzzle wall is found in Pokopia’s Withered Wasteland, which is the starting area of the game. Head to the Pokemon Center in Withered Wasteland, and you’ll notice the red brick pathway that goes along the right side of the building dead ends to a dirt wall. Punch through the dirt to reveal a new section of the map.

Don’t advance into this new area, and instead, look to the left of where you just punched through the dirt. There will be another place with dirt rubble you can punch through, as shown in the image above. Breaking the dirt away will reveal a stone staircase. Head down into a hidden temple with a puzzle wall. Each tile on the wall represents a variant of the hieroglyph-like Pokemon called Unown.
How to solve the puzzle wall and unlock Mew

Each Mysterious Slate you find in Pokopia will be marked with one of these Unown variants. You can view the marking on the back by placing down anywhere on the ground. Match each slate’s Unown symbol with the one shown on the wall.
Placing all of the Mysterious Slates will complete the Mysterious Slate puzzle in Withered Wasteland. Completing the puzzle spawns Mew who you can then befriend as a mythic reward. Mew will follow you around, but presumably you’ll want to build the mythic Pokemon a habitat as well.
