Solateria Is An Incredible Metroidvania Title With A Unique Combat System

This article was produced in collaboration with our sponsors, Studio Doodal and SHINSEGAE I&C.

Solateria is the latest title developed by Studio Doodal and published by SHINSEGAE I&C. The incredible parry-focused game was released on March 12, 2026, for PC, so you can already buy it on Steam. The metroidvania entered into development in 2024, and it’s a perfect fit for players who are fans of titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong. Honestly, it’s a great game with engaging game mechanics and a story that will captivate you from start to finish.

New Soulsvania Game on Steam Feels Like Hollow Knight: Silksong Meets Sekiro

If you’ve finished Hollow Knight: Silksong and are craving something similar, or just loved Sekiro’s parry-focused combat, then give Solateria a look.

Get Ready For Your Next Metroidvania Adventure With Solateria

Solateria takes you to a world that once flourished under the Primordial Flame, but things turned ugly after the Shadow Plague took over the entire world. Now, the only way to save this world is by finding the Primordial Flame. You take on the role of Tott, a warrior who has lost all his memories. But now, he ventures into this dangerous and unknown world to find the Flame and find the vanished King.

It’s a beautiful story backed by stunning visuals, and what’s impressive about Solateria is that its entire world is hand-drawn. So, every time you take a moment to appreciate the stunning visuals, remember that someone has put their soul into bringing that scene to life.

Solateria offers a massive world for players to explore, where they can uncover hidden secrets and meet some very interesting allies along the way. On every stage, you recover a lost fragment of Tott’s memory, and you won’t rest until you have all the pieces together.

Solateria Features Stylish Parry-Focused Combat

Solateria proudly flexes a unique combat system that relies on parry and perfect timing. Instead of unleashing direct attacks, players have to analyze the enemy’s attack pattern and execute a perfect parry. By doing so, players are able to execute powerful counterattacks. For instance, after each successful parry, a player is rewarded with the ‘Pyron Action’ counterattack, a time-slow effect that is not only satisfying to execute but also a visual spectacle.

Also, there’s no shortage of enemies in Solateria, as you’ll find a variety of strong bosses as you venture deeper into the world infected by the Shadow Plague. From small minions who’ll attack you in groups to tower-high bosses, each enemy comes with a distinct fighting style. So, there’s a constant need to adapt and upgrade.

Speaking of upgrades, players can enhance their Core Stones and even equip different parts to change their playstyle. What’s interesting is that different parts can create powerful synergy attacks if you go with the right combination. All in all, the combat won’t ever feel repetitive in Solateria as the game wants you to adapt and adjust as per your playstyle of the enemy you’re facing.

Studio Doodal has truly delivered a great title, and given that the indie studio’s very first game, LAPIN, got a 94% “Very Positive” review rating on Steam, it’s no surprise. Regardless, if you’re excited to try out Solateria, you can get it right now on Steam. You can also stay updated on any latest developments around Solateria by following the game on Instagram and Twitter.
