Twilight Princess PC Port Looks Glorious At 60FPS

Twilight Princess PC Port Looks Glorious At 60FPS

A native PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which has been dubbed Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn by its development team, is closer than ever to becoming a reality, as the small team of volunteers working on the project has just revealed an extremely impressive 60fps showcase of its work-in-progress build.

As spotted by PC Gamer, the majority of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’ decompilation was completed toward the tail end of 2025 and, on December 30, fan project lead Linifadomra uploaded the first showcase of the game’s native PC port.

Well, what a difference four months makes, because the build of Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn uploaded to Linifadomra’s YouTube last night looks borderline complete, running at a stable native 60fps, with fully implemented keyboard and mouse support. The original game, as well as the Wii U HD remaster, were locked at 30fps.

Work on the native PC port isn’t actually complete, however, as Linifadomra explains in the video that they’re still looking for more developers to help get the project over the finish line. That being said, they also note that it’s “completely crashless” and, besides a few funky cutscene glitches, I personally couldn’t spot any huge bugs or issues in the footage.

It’s impossible to say exactly when it will be finished at this point in time, which makes it all the more impressive that someone has already modded Hyrule Warriors Legends’ Linkle, a female variant of Link, into the Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn port.

Just keep in mind that when it does release, you’ll still need an ethically sourced ROM of the original The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube to actually run the native PC version of the game. Just like with the native PC port of Star Fox 64, these types of projects are generally considered to be outside the zone of Nintendo’s legal threats for that exact reason. Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn itself isn’t supposed to contain any of Nintendo’s own proprietary assets upon release.

We’ll see if that actually stops Nintendo from issuing a challenge, and if the mod project releases before the company brings Twilight Princess to the Switch 2’s GameCube library.
