Temtem: Pioneers is a newly announced co-op survival game blending Pokemon-like creature collection with an extensive crafting system that took mere hours to hit its crowdfunding goal on Kickstarter. The latest installment in the Temtem series is targeting a 2028 launch, albeit for a limited list of platforms.
Developed by Spanish studio Crema, the 2022 Temtem still enjoys a reputation as one of the best modern creature collection games in the vein of Pokemon. The Madrid-based studio followed up on it with Temtem: Showdown, a PvP-focused free-to-play battler that debuted in 2023 with zero microtransactions. Since then, the developer also launched Temtem: Swarm, a 2024 bullet heaven title modeled after Vampire Survivors.

Temtem: Pioneers Smashes Its Crowdfunding Goal in 24 Hours
Another spin-off in the series has now been unveiled in the form of Temtem: Pioneers, which was announced alongside its Kickstarter campaign on April 9 and surpassed its $100,000 funding goal within 24 hours. As of April 12, the project had amassed more than $214,000 worth of pledges from 2,332 backers, with 27 days still remaining in the campaign. In gameplay terms, Temtem: Pioneers is a survival crafting title in the vein of Palworld, striving to combine open-world exploration, building, and creature collection into one cohesive package.
Although Temtem: Pioneers can be played solo, it will also offer online co-op for up to six players. That’s two more than Palworld‘s co-op mode supports. Crema has positioned the game as a spin-off rather than a sequel to 2022’s Temtem, while saying it still wants to explore a proper follow-up to its breakout title in the future. As with the Spanish studio’s earlier releases, Temtem: Pioneers is not intended to be a live service game, so while post-launch content may be added, development is expected to have a clear endpoint. Crema also said the project has been in the works for some time, with the Kickstarter campaign serving as a way to “take the game further” rather than a condition for getting it made in the first place.
Temtem: Pioneers Can Currently Be Pre-Ordered for $30, But Not for Long
For the duration of its Kickstarter campaign, Temtem: Pioneers can be secured with a minimum €25 (~$30) pledge, which unlocks the Trailblazer backer tier that includes a digital key for either Steam or the Epic Games Store. Backers at that level will also be named in the credits and receive a matching role on the game’s Discord server, giving them access to an exclusive group. The game itself will be more expensive than $30 at launch, Crema has confirmed.

Temtem: Pioneers has only been announced for PC so far. Although some of Crema’s earlier games also launched on Linux and macOS, the FAQ for its latest Kickstarter campaign explicitly describes parallel development for those platforms as too demanding and not worth the effort. The wording still leaves room for eventual ports and notes consoles are a long-term goal, but clearly states that PC will be the game’s only launch platform. For reference, 2023’s Temtem: Showdown is still the only Crema title to remain a PC exclusive to this day, with every other release eventually reaching least one console. The game itself is currently targeting a 2028 release. While Temtem: Pioneers appears to have been in pre-production for some time, Crema had until recently been focused on finishing its survivor-like game Temtem: Swarm, which officially left early access on April 2, 2026.
