Developed by Boltz Entertainment, Write Warz is a party title where players work together to create and vote on hilarious stories, while also utilizing unique character abilities. It has been in early access and free-to-play since launching on Steam over a year ago.

Write Warz Leaves Early Access and Free-to-Play Status Very Soon
Released in March 2025, Write Warz is available to download for free while it’s still in early access. On April 17, 2026, Write Warz will be leaving early access as part of its 3.0 update. This also means that it won’t be free-to-play anymore, so players must download it before April 17 if they want to get it free of charge. Beyond that, Write Warz will be available on Steam for $9.99.
In a Steam post, Boltz Entertainment devs wrote that they are excited to share the full game with everyone, which also includes new features. Write Warz‘s 3.0 full release will come with a new theme called Elves vs Samurai, which is described as an anime high-fantasy. Players will be assigned a faction, and they’ll have to work with their team to write an epic story to rack up points and get the best ending. Write Warz is also rolling out mobile support (beta test) to allow people to play with just one PC host for a true party game experience similar to how Jackbox mini-games are played. Twitch integration will be part of the update as well to give viewers the chance to participate in writing stories.
