We Like Big Pots And We Cannot Lie: Xbox's Kiln Sweepstakes Gets Cheeky

Despite what your high school arts teacher taught you, this is a good week to get in the Kiln–specifically, Double Fine’s game of the same name about ceramic deathmatches. The studio’s new release is billed as a pottery power-fantasy, and to set the tone for what players can expect, Xbox has launched a cheeky new sweepstakes promotion revolving around “butt-iful” pieces of art. And yes, we like big pots, and we cannot lie.

To stand a chance to win one of these ceramic cheeks, all you have to do is follow the Xbox account and repost with the “KilnSweepstakes hashtag. Don’t forget to read through a mountain of fine print, either, to see if your entry is eligible.

The collection leaves very little to the imagination, because who doesn’t want to chug down some morning brown from a mug that has a case of plumber’s crack, or chow down on some popped corn from a glazed pair of hams? At the very least, these pieces will be a conversation-starter–or ender, when your guest notices what they’ve been drinking from.

Kiln launches on April 23 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. The game is also a day-one launch through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Double Fine has been busy as of late, as Kiln launches just a few months after the studio’s other critically acclaimed release, Keeper. Kiln wasn’t baked overnight, as with many Double Fine games, it takes several years for an idea to go from inception to release, and several of the developer’s titles are the result of Amnesia Fortnight, an internal game-jam exercise.
