Mojang has officially unveiled the first new dimension for Minecraft in over 14 years. Announced during Minecraft LIVE September 2026, the Sift will join the Overworld, the Nether, and the End as Minecraft‘s fourth accessible dimension. While the Sift will debut in the upcoming spin-off game Minecraft Dungeons 2, it will also join Java and Bedrock Editions in 2027.

Although Mojang didn’t get too deep into the specific mechanics of the Sift, the studio did share a brief teaser trailer giving fans a glimpse of the Sift’s environments and new mob. The Sift is a vibrant mix of neon blue and pink that Mojang describes as beautiful, vibrant, and teeming with souls. Fans wanting to experience the Sift for themselves before it’s added to vanilla Minecraft can check out how the new dimension functions in Minecraft Dungeons 2.
