Diablo 4 has officially scheduled a new Developer Update Livestream for April 23 that will dive into details about the Lord of Hatred expansion and its endgame content. This will be the final Diablo 4 broadcast ahead of Lord of Hatred’s release on April 28.
The second expansion for Diablo 4, titled Lord of Hatred, is nearly here. Players must join Lorath Nahr in pursuit of Mephisto, who has claimed the body of the prophet Akarat. The Lord of Hatred has gone to the new Diablo 4 zone of Skovos, the ancestral homeland of humanity, in order to corrupt the Pools of Creation – and only the Wanderer and the old Horadric sage can stop him.

Starting April 23 at 11 AM PT, gamers can tune in to this broadcast to learn more about the expansion. The developers will cover many topics during the showcase, including:

During the livestream, fans can also collect some free rewards in the form of two new Twitch Drops. By watching up to an hour of any streamer in the Diablo 4 category on Twitch during the 24 hours starting with the broadcast, players can obtain the Decaying Corona Staff and the Double Trouble Sword cosmetic without even logging into the game. While the Developer Update Livestream will count toward unlocking these cosmetics, fans do not need to watch this official broadcast in order to get them, nor do they need to have pre-purchased Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred.
- Connect Twitch and Battle.net accounts
-
Watch any channel in the Diablo 4 category on Twitch from April 23, 11:00 AM PT, through April 24, 10:59 AM PT to earn the following rewards:
- 30 minutes: Decaying Corona Staff Cosmetic
- 1 hour: Double Trouble Sword Cosmetic
- Once complete, claim rewards from the Twitch Drops inventory

It is unclear how much gameplay the livestream will show, or if it will reveal any additional details about the plot. There are many unanswered questions at present, including how and why Lilith, Daughter of Hatred, will return to aid players against her father. Diablo 4 revealed 12 minutes of gameplay from the start of Lord of Hatred and has shared a couple of in-game cinematics, but players will likely have to wait until the actual expansion releases to see how it all plays out.
