ARC Raiders is moving away from the previous monthly update cadence in favor of more impactful additions, though the studio is also giving players a heads-up on what’s coming including a new vendor and what Embark calls the “biggest update yet.” Although it isn’t the juggernaut it once was, ARC Raiders remains a massive popular extraction shooter, and according to recent financial reports, the game retains very high player engagement and has become a massive sales success.
Since launch last year, ARC Raiders has continued to add new content just about every month, giving players new content to dig into very often. While not every new event or content drop was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, for the most part, players were impressed with the ever evolving landscape, between new enemies to fight, loot to hunt, or maps to explore. With the launch of Riven Tides for ARC Raiders in April, the roadmap was essentially complete, leaving many players to wonder what Embark was planning for the rest of 2026 and beyond. Now, fans have a better idea of what to expect from ARC Raiders as Embark lays out its plans for the future of the game.
ARC Raiders Shares New Anti-Cheat Update Amid Growing Player Concerns
As concerns continue to grow, ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios provides the community with a new anti-cheat update and reveals its future plans.
ARC Raiders Moves Away From Monthly Updates
In a new blog, Embark Studios discusses the future of ARC Raiders and for many fans, the biggest piece of news is that the monthly cycle of major updates is coming to an end. While previous ARC Raiders roadmaps were intended to keep the game feeling fresh, Embark admits that the pressure created from nailing these monthly updates isn’t sustainable both for players and the developers. In order to achieve the bigger ambitions that EMbark has for the game, the studio is moving to two major content releases per year. However, the studio confirms that these updates will be larger in scale, more impactful, and will change how players interact with the game.

To hammer home the new release cycle, Embark gave fans an early look at Frozen Trail, the next content release set for an October release. Calling it the biggest update the studio has ever done, players can expect a “sprawling new frontier” to explore as the largest map featuring a layered design and new mysteries to uncover. Players can also expect new ARC enemies to fight with fresh designs and unique behaviors, new progression goals and features to dig into, an improved skill tree, as well as answers to some of the bigger questions surrounding the ARC machines and where they’re actually coming from. Lastly, the update will also add new weapons, gear, cosmetics, and loot.
However, these major releases won’t be the only updates to the game, as a dedicated live team will continue to tweak the experience with balance and bug fixes, store updates, player events, as well as smaller live updates. As part of that, Embark confirmed that next week will bring a new Vendor to Speranza for endgame level players. Unlocking at level 25, the Trader will offer weekly rotating rewards in exchange for high-value items or specific rare items. In addition, the Trader will offer two new perks, including Extra Stash to expand player capacity and Expedition Vault, which allows players to carry over up to five items across ARC Raiders‘ Expedition feature.

Essentially, these changes are intended to help continue building for the long term, as Embark teased more progression improvements which weren’t possible to do with monthly updates. The move will help Embark continue to expand and build out the wider universe of ARC Raiders, even teasing a potential future where humans reclaim the surface. Frozen Trail marks that beginning for Embark and players and while the post ends with the admission that this change likely won’t please everyone, the dev team believes it’ll be worth it.
