ARC Raiders’ big Riven Tides update, which launched on April 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, has seemingly broken the shooter’s crossplay feature for the majority of players. Following the release of the 1.26.0 update for ARC Raiders this week, players quickly began reporting that the crossplay option had suddenly been disabled and was unable to be turned back on. Embark has since responded to the issue and confirmed a fix is in the works.
Ever since the new year began, Embark has been releasing a steady stream of new content updates every month, with Riven Tides being the most recent release. The April 28 patch also marks the end of ARC Raiders‘ official 2026 roadmap, at least for now. Embark detailed four updates between January and April, but has yet to reveal what its plans are for the remainder of the year. The good news, however, is that the studio has said it intends to support the shooter for up to a decade, which means there will likely be a new roadmap for the rest of 2026 released in the coming weeks.
ARC Raiders Accidentally Breaks Crossplay With New Riven Tides Update
Earlier this week, Embark Studios released the highly anticipated Riven Tides update for ARC Raiders. Not only did it add a brand-new map and a terrifying new ARC enemy, but it also appears to have unintentionally broken the game’s crossplay feature. Shortly after the patch went live, players took to social media sites such as Reddit to question why crossplay was not disabled in the game’s settings and unable to be turned back on. This means that players are unable to matchmake or pair up with their friends on other platforms, but Embark has said it is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
In a message on the official ARC Raiders Discord, a community manager said Embark is currently investigating an issue with crossplay following the April 28 ARC Raiders patch. The studio said it will report back to players when the issue has been resolved. At the time of writing, more than 24 hours later, there has been no further update on the matter. However, Embark did share a temporary fix for the problem, telling players that they can fully restore their settings to default to enable crossplay once again. However, this will in turn reset all other settings, such as controls and accessibility options, so anybody who does not want to go through the hassle of tweaking all of their other settings once again should wait for an official fix.
Crossplay issues aside, the recent update has given fans tons of new content to check out, including a brand-new map known as Riven Tides and a new map condition, Beachcombing. The new minor map condition lets players search for buried treasure on the beaches of Riven Tides with the new metal detector item, but players will also want to be on high alert as the new ARC Turbine enemy is another deadly addition to the game.

Riven Tides also marks the opening of the next Expedition Window in ARC Raiders, which has made some major changes this time around. While previous Expeditions saw players hoarding all of their best items and weapons to make sure they met the Stash/Coin value requirement for all five Skill Points, Embark has now tied the additional Points to a new damage challenge. Players now have until Monday, May 11, to rack up a total of 100,000 damage if they want to earn the five extra Skill Points for the upcoming reset. For reference, that is the equivalent of destroying approximately 20 Bastions.
