ARC Raiders Player Organizes a Massive Fireworks Lightshow During a Normal Match

Using the fireworks items available in ARC Raiders, a lobby of players unite together to help pull off one of the biggest lightshow displays in the game’s history, by lighting up the Spaceport towers. Embark Studio’s ARC Raiders has been one of the surprise breakout hits of 2025, not only pulling in major numbers during the tech tests earlier this year, but being able to carry those numbers over to a very successful launch.

In fact, Embark has continued to keep players engaged and logging in over the months post-release thanks to a constant cycle of updates as well as new content. In November, a community event was held in ARC Raiders to unlock the Stella Montis map, as players donated common materials in-game at a rapid pace to unlock the new area. In December, the Cold Snap update arrived, which added a holiday-theme and community event to the game as well as a new map condition that added snow and a frostbite effect to the maps. Even with all this new content, one of the greatest strengths of ARC Raiders continues to be its community of players.

ARC Raiders players have shown off their creativity in the past, but this latest example from Reddit user HitboTC might just be one of the best. In the 1-minute video, most, if not the entire server of players, came together at the Spaceport towers to set up a massive fireworks display. Using Fireworks Boxes, players set them up all around the perimeter of the tower roofs before descending the stairs to the Arrival area and setting them off. The lightshow was massive as the fireworks were detonated all at once, creating a colorful sight that could be seen from just about anywhere on the map.

The post has exploded on the subreddit, with most comments in awe that such an event was able to happen at all. Considering ARC Raiders is an extraction shooter that supports both PvE and PvP, many players have experienced some level or betrayal or getting ambushed by others or even the NPC ARC enemies that are all over the place. The fact that this many players could be as organized and on the same page left many people pleasantly surprised.

While there’s no way to fully guarantee that a large number of players all enter the same match at the same time, more than a few comments have indicated that it’s possible to manipulate the matchmaking to allow for it. For a streamer or YouTuber, they’d have to organize it so that everyone queues together at the same time, which doesn’t guarantee anything, but pushes the odds in their favor that the lobby will be full of supporters to help accomplish an event like this.

Part of the appeal of games like ARC Raiders is the tension it can generate. Dropped into a hostile map with both AI and real players, there are a lot of unknowns to contend with, which helps ensure that each round feels a bit different. However, one thing that Embark didn’t really see coming is how cooperative players have been, as developers confirmed that internal playtests of ARC Raiders tended to be more bloodthirsty with encounters typically devolving into PvP. However, Embark developers have said that seeing how players generally treat each other socially has been pretty uplifting.

Player behavior also seems to impact the game’s matchmaking systems. While not officially confirmed, Embark’s Robert Sammelin seemed to hint that ARC Raiders matchmaking takes player behavior into account, so that PvP-heavy players will likely be matched with similar playstyles and vice versa. While not a guaranteed or sure thing every time, players have begun to take notice of this as well. It’s well known that the Solo vs Squad matchmaking can offer very different experiences for players, but it now seems that players can further influence their matches based on how they play.
