ARC Raiders Players Discover a Handy Bug That Protects Them From Fire Damage

ARC Raiders Players Discover a Handy Bug That Protects Them From Fire Damage

An ARC Raiders player has stumbled upon a new bug that seemingly prevents players from taking fire damage, so long as they’re willing to bust out their best moves. With the recent addition of the new Firefly ARC type, as well as the existing Fireball and various other fire-related items in ARC Raiders, death via fire is becoming all too common. However, it looks like there’s actually a very simple way to avoid some unnecessary deaths.

As promised in the ARC Raiders 2026 roadmap, Embark released the massive Flashpoint update on March 31, which not only added tons of new content to the shooter but also made some significant changes and improvements. The patch is available to download right now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and includes an insanely difficult new map condition known as Close Scrutiny, a deadly new ARC type called the Vaporizer, and two brand-new weapons for players to check out. While the update also included plenty of bug fixes, it also seems to have brought about a new one that players don’t want to see removed anytime soon.

ARC Raiders Reveals Plans To ‘Reduce Friction’ in Future Updates

Following recent changes to in-game crafting, Embark Studios reveals plans to continue addressing community pain points and feedback in ARC Raiders.

ARC Raiders Players Can Prevent Fire Damage by Dancing

After the addition of the Firefly in ARC Raiders‘ Shrouded Sky update, the number of players being sent back to Speranza by burning alive has likely increased tenfold. However, a user on Reddit has discovered a strange bug that can prevent fire damage by dancing. In the clip, which can be seen above, the player downs an enemy Raider and approaches them, only to be followed by a pesky Fireball. The ARC then does what it does best and emits a flame directly at the player. For some reason, they decide to start dancing, which somehow prevents the Fireball from doing any damage to them.

The clip only shows the player preventing fire damage from a Fireball, so it’s unclear as to whether or not this works with the likes of the Firefly or items, such as the Blaze Grenade. If it does work, this could be an absolute game-changer for players, which also sadly means there’s a strong chance Embark patches the bug in a future update. So, for anyone looking to make the most of the bug, do so now before it’s gone forever.

This isn’t the first time that ARC Raiders has had a game-altering bug, and it likely won’t be the last time. While Embark’s new extraction shooter has received rave reviews, sold millions of copies, and even picked up the coveted Best Multiplayer award at the 2025 Game Awards, it hasn’t been without its issues. Whether it’s weapons failing to fire, out-of-bounds exploits, crashes, or UI issues, there have been an abundance of problems that Embark has been forced to rectify since the game’s release in October 2025.

Fans can expect the next major ARC Raiders update to arrive at the end of this month, as Embark is now gearing up to release the Riven Tides patch, which will be free for all players. Specific details on the update are yet to be revealed, but the official 2026 roadmap confirms that there will be a new map and a new large ARC enemy, presumably similar to the Queen and Matriarch.
