Pokemon GO players have shared a genius idea for adding aim training to the game. The feature, if added to Pokemon GO, could potentially be a tremendous help to new players or anyone looking to be boost their odds of catching a Pokemon by landing curveballs.
In most Pokemon games, throwing a Poke Ball is a largely automated process. Players simply pick which one they want to toss, and in the majority of the games, it’s then just a matter of waiting to see if they were successful or not. But in Pokemon GO, successfully landing shots and using advanced techniques can mean the difference between catching a Pokemon and wasting numerous Poke Balls.

Pokemon GO Players Want a Poke Ball Training Feature
A Pokemon GO fan has suggested that the game needs a training feature for throwing Poke Balls, and plenty of players are in agreement. Pokemon GO trainer ZaxAlchemist shared a mock-up demonstrating their idea, with a Pokemon Substitute doll on the field instead of a wild Pokemon. Players would be able to practice with an endless supply of Poke Balls without using any from their inventory. They suggested that being able to move the decoy closer or further away, or adding movement, would help to give Pokemon GO players a better understanding of how the mechanics work and improve their ability to land their shots during actual encounters.

ZaxAlchemist has gained a lot of attention in the community for their idea, with numerous players agreeing that it’s a good idea. Others have further refined it with more suggestions, like giving the training mode multiple difficulties, with the option to change the size of the decoy to make it easier to handle wild encounters with small Pokemon. Another popular idea added an extra element to it, suggesting that instead of a Substitute doll, Pokemon GO Buddy Pokemon could be used, turning the mode into something like playing catch while also sharpening the player’s Poke Ball throwing skills, and boosting the Buddy Level of their Pokemon at the same time.
While most established Pokemon GO players have thrown plenty of Poke Balls over the years, this feature could be a huge help to newcomers. Some players pointed out that it’s generally not hard to find wild Pokemon to practice throws on, but that means using up actual Poke Balls. This suggested method wouldn’t use up any actual supplies, so players could practice as much as they want without any real downsides. The feature could be particularly helpful for those who are trying to get better at throwing curveballs in Pokemon GO, as it is sometimes difficult to get the technique right while still landing the shot on erratically-moving Pokemon.

Several said that at this point, their inventories are overflowing with Poke Balls that aren’t very helpful in catching the rare and Legendary Pokemon they’ve yet to catch in Pokemon GO. Until such a time when a feature like this is added to the game, players have recommended using any excess Poke Balls to practice catching with. In any case, if such a feature were added, at least it wouldn’t be embarrassing to use, like the recent Pokemon GO Mega Mewtwo Raid mechanic was.
