ARC Raiders Players Want One Change From March’s Flashpoint Update Reverted

On March 31, developer Embark Studios released a massive new update for its hit extraction shooter, ARC Raiders. Dubbed as Flashpoint, the latest ARC Raiders patch added tons of new content to the game, including new enemies, weapons, and more. However, it also made some rather unexpected changes that fans aren’t happy about, as the community is now calling for Embark to revert the audio changes made to the Rocketeer.

This week’s Flashpoint update was possibly ARC Raiders‘ biggest one to date, with the standout additions being a deadly new map condition and an even deadlier new ARC enemy, the Vaporizer. For those who haven’t jumped into the new update yet, the Vaporizer is essentially a Queen and Matriarch hybrid that can fly, and it’s absolutely horrifying. With deadly laser attacks and an idiosyncratic attack pattern, the Vaporizer could be the most formidable enemy in the game, right next to the Shredder and Rocketeer.

ARC Raiders Makes Change to Controversial AI Voices

ARC Raiders confirms it made a change to the controversial AI dialogue in the game that frustrates many fans in the community.

ARC Raiders Players Want The Old Rocketeer Noises Back

Speaking of the Rocketeer, the flying ARC enemy received a rather unexpected change in the most recent update. Although not mentioned in the official patch notes for ARC Raiders‘ Flashpoint update, Embark has changed the sounds that the Rocketeer makes when it detects a Raider, and players aren’t happy. In a recent post on Reddit, one user is petitioning for Embark to revert the Rocketeer sounds to what they were pre-Flashpoint update. The sheer number of upvotes and comments also makes it clear that the rest of the community is in agreement: Embark needs to bring back the classic sounds.

“Yeah, it’s weird they changed it. Every ARC should have a unique sound. Pops and Fireballs sound too similar, as do Comets and Surveyors,” one user responded, while another said, “I’ve been happy with pretty much every change with every update so far, but changing the iconic Rocketeer sound to be the same as the Vaporiser seems like a massive misstep.” Others also pointed out that the most recent update has also changed some of the music that players hear while in Speranza, with many urging that Embark shouldn’t be replacing existing music and audio sounds.

Outside of some rather unnecessary changes to the Rocketeer, the most recent update has been fairly well received by players. The new Close Scrutiny map condition might not be the endgame content ARC Raiders players have been begging for, but it’s certainly the game’s most challenging experience to date. Raiders who load into Close Scrutiny will want to make their way to the new ARC Assessor, which can be located by the red laser beam in the sky. Inside is some lucrative ARC loot, but breaching the Assessor will spawn a plethora of Vaporizers, Rocketeers, Wasps, Hornets, and more. It’s no easy challenge, but there’s a chance that players will be rewarded with the new weapon blueprint if they’re lucky enough.

With Flashpoint now out of the way, fans are patiently waiting for more details on April’s Riven Tides update, which is expected to launch at the end of the month. Embark confirmed the update earlier this year when it revealed the 2026 roadmap for ARC Raiders, with Riven Tides finally set to add a new map and a new large ARC enemy to the game. The last time players were treated to a new map and a large ARC was shortly after the game launched, when Embark released the big Northline update, which added the Matriarch and Stella Montis.
