August 25 is Going to Be a Super Busy Day for PS Plus Subscribers

August 25 is Going to Be a Super Busy Day for PS Plus Subscribers

PlayStation Plus subscribers have yet another update to look forward to in the near future, as five games are making their debut on the Extra tier all at once. Sony recently changed how it distributes new games to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus. Instead of adding all of the games on the same day like it used to do, Sony has now started to spread the new additions throughout the month.

There’s pros and cons to this approach, but regardless, it means that PS Plus subscribers have already been treated to some new Extra and Premium games in August. Earlier in the month, PS Plus Extra and Premium were updated to include Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Vampire Survivors for the Extra tier and Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams for the Premium tier. PS Plus subscribers can check those games out while they wait for the next batch of titles that are coming on Tuesday, August 25.

PS Plus Monthly Games for September 2026 Wish List

As PS Plus wraps up its selection of August games, it’s worth looking forward to the PS Plus free, Extra, and Premium games for September 2026.

List of PS Plus Games Coming on August 25

  • Dying Light 2 – August 25
  • Hell is Us – August 25
  • Metro Exodus – August 25
  • Two Point Museum – August 25
  • Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash – August 25

The next PS Plus update will be released on Tuesday, August 25, and will see five more games added to the service. These games are all coming to the Extra tier, which means Premium tier subscribers will also get access to them. The titles in question are Dying Light 2, Hell is Us, Metro Exodus, Two Point Museum, and Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash. Removal dates for PS Plus games are rarely ever announced in advance and titles typically stay on the service for a year or more, so subscribers should have access to these games for quite a long time after they’re added on August 25.

For those unfamiliar with the games, Dying Light 2 is an open world zombie game with co-op support, while Hell is Us is a challenging, hardcore action-adventure sci-fi game. Metro Exodus is a first-person shooter with survival-horror elements, while Two Point Museum is a quirky simulation game where players manage a museum. And finally, Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash is a mini-game collection based on the popular multimedia franchise about anime race horses.

After these games are added to PS Plus on August 25, the next date subscribers will want to keep an eye on is Wednesday, August 26. It’s highly likely that the next batch of free PS Plus games will be announced on that day, to then be added on Tuesday, September 1. These games will be part of the Essential tier of PS Plus, meaning all subscribers will get to play them.

As far as the Extra and Premium games go, the September lineup will most likely be announced on Wednesday, September 9. Some games will likely be added on Tuesday, September 15, but some PS Plus games will leave that day as well. Fans will want to keep an eye out for official word from Sony.
