Xbox Game Pass‘ Ultimate tier has just added two big games to its list, including one highly anticipated day-one release, with High on Life 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance now available for play by customers of the subscription service. Xbox Game Pass memberships provide subscribers with plenty of options when it comes to gaming, and these two new additions are some of the biggest games to hit the service in 2026 so far.
The first new additions of the year for Xbox Game Pass arrived on January 6, with puzzle-solving horror game Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition and dungeon crawler Brews & Bastards joining Microsoft’s gaming service. There have been some other notable inclusions since that time, with big-name games including the first two entries in the Final Fantasy series, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Resident Evil Village, and Star Wars Outlaws coming to Xbox Game Pass in the first month and a half of the year. Now, the subscription service has given fans access to a brand-new FPS game and a celebrated RPG from 2018, expanding its library even further.
High on Life 2 is a Bigger, Better, and Funnier Sequel
High on Life 2 evolves its chaotic formula with sharper writing, even stronger performances, and some major upgrades across the board.
High on Life 2 is a Day-One Release on Xbox Game Pass
The bigger of these two entries, based on its day-one status, is High on Life 2, the follow-up to Squanch Games’ late-2022 hit first-person shooter. Microsoft confirmed that High on Life 2 would be a day-one Game Pass game back in August 2025, and it’s now delivered on that promise. Though reviews are still rolling in, the FPS featuring snarky, talking alien guns currently holds a Top Critic Average of 76 and a “strong” Critics Recommend rate of 65 percent on OpenCritic, with those who have played the game early praising its commitment to its own ridiculous brand of brightly lit dark humor and unique visuals and narrative.
The first High on Life game earned accolades for its playful and comedic story, which Squanch Games has tried to faithfully continue with its first sequel on Xbox Series X|S. There have been some early concerns that the novelty of that humor may have worn off since 2022, but multiple professional critics have seemed surprised by High on Life 2‘s compelling story, memorable bosses, and worthwhile feeling of exploration around its candy-colored world. Non-Xbox-players can also pick up High on Life 2 now on PlayStation 5 and PC, and it’s set for release on April 20 for Nintendo Switch 2.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Arrives on Xbox Game Pass
The other new arrival on Xbox Game Pass is Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Warhorse Studios’ action-RPG set in the medieval kingdom of Bohemia. Considered by many as one of the best RPGs of 2018, Kingdom Come: Deliverance placed players into the role of Henry, son of and apprentice to a blacksmith in the mining town of Skalitz. After an attack on the town by Cuman soldiers under the command of real-life historical figure Sigismund of Luxembourg results in the death of his parents and the seizing of his father’s masterwork sword, Henry makes his escape and plots his revenge. The game was originally released for Xbox One but has recently received a next-gen update for Xbox Series X|S, and it is playable on both platforms.
While the first game in the series saw only a mixed-to-average reception, with many frustrated by Kingdom Come: Deliverance‘s deep combat system of blocks and strikes, it also laid the groundwork for the celebrated 2025 sequel, which earned a nomination for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025. Although the original Kingdom Come Deliverance features a smaller game world, fewer dynamic quests, and less fine-tuned combat system than its sequel, the two games also have plenty of similarities, including the high level of reactivity of its NPCs and the writers’ commitment to engaging storytelling, and fans of the sequel can play through the origins of Henry’s story on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate now.
