Black Ops 7 Forced to Reschedule Event After Accidentally Releasing New Weapon Early

Treyarch Studios has announced that the upcoming Lost Outpost event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been rescheduled and will now begin at 10 AM PT on Tuesday, April 7. Initially set to go live later this week, the next Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 event has been brought forward following the accidental early release of one of its associated weapons, which appeared available for purchase via the in-game store earlier this week.

Lost Outpost will be one of the many in-game events for Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, which kicked off on Thursday, April 2. The major content update brought tons of new multiplayer maps, game modes, weapons, and more to the shooter, with something for everyone, regardless of which mode players gravitate towards. For Warzone players, developer Raven Software brought back the iconic Verdansk, with plans for big map rotation between Avalon and Verdansk later in the season. As for Zombies fans, a new map, known as Totenreich, will arrive in Season 3 Reloaded, and Multiplayer fans have five new maps to check out right now, with more set to arrive in a few weeks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Latest Zombies Announcement is an Even Bigger Headscratcher Than Paradox Junction

While Totenreich and Legacy Weapons hold tons of potential, as a CoD Zombies fan, it’s hard not to question one of Treyarch’s Black Ops 7 plans.

Treyarch Reschedules Black Ops 7’s Lost Outpost Event

Earlier this week, fans noticed that a new store bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, known as Ghillie Drift, included a weapon blueprint for the Strider 300, a Sniper Rifle that wasn’t due to be released until the Lost Outpost event began on April 9. This meant users could purchase the bundle, obtain the blueprint, and use the gun before its official release. Treyarch has now released a new statement on the matter, acknowledging the mistake and bringing the start date for Lost Outpost forward by 48 hours. The event will now begin at 10 AM PT on Tuesday, April 7, and give players an additional two days to earn the associated rewards, including the Strider 300 Sniper Rifle.

Treyarch said the release of the Strider 300 as part of the Ghille Drift bundle was due to a “technical issue” with the game’s store, leading to the decision to reschedule the event. With the event now beginning earlier than intended, players will soon be able to complete it and unlock various new rewards, including the Strider 300 Sniper Rifle, a new Southpaw skin for the Samuels Operator, an Akita Shotgun weapon blueprint, new weapon camos, Double XP tokens, and more. Players can earn the aforementioned rewards by collecting Beacons dropped by eliminated Operators during the event.

Lost Outpost isn’t the only event for Black Ops 7 Season 3, as Zombies players still have time to jump into the Survivors of Ash event and earn plenty of additional in-game rewards. Survivors of Ash is live until April 9, allowing players to complete in-game challenges for Gobble Gums, weapon charms, emblems, weapon camos, blueprints, and more. Many of these challenges will also need to be completed on the new Ashwood Survival map, which is a section of Ashes of the Damned that has been turned into a smaller survival map for Season 3.

Although fans have been loving the shooter’s big Season 3 update, it hasn’t been without some controversy. Alongside the full roadmap reveal, Activision also unveiled a new Dave Chappelle collaboration for Black Ops 7. The bundle includes new Operator Skins based on the controversial comedian, but many players pointed out that the publisher had previously stated it would be dialing back on the celebrity collabs. Chapelle now joins the likes of Nicki Minaj, Seth Rogen, and Snoop Dogg to have their own playable Operators in a Call of Duty game.
