Borderlands’ FL4K Officially Returns on September 10

Gearbox has officially revealed the second DLC story pack for Borderlands 4, featuring the return of fan-favorite Vault Hunter FL4K. Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2, titled FL4K and the Last Resort, launches on September 10 along with a brand-new Vault Hunter, Loveless the Hacker. This story pack follows up on the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC that released back in March of this year.

Borderlands 4 has faced some criticism from players in the months since it originally launched, especially surrounding its DLC story packs. While DLC Story Pack 1, which included Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned plus the new Vault Hunter C4SH was generally seen as enjoyable content, many fans took issue with the Borderlands 4 DLC’s high price tag for its short runtime. It’s unclear if Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2 will have the same price-to-playtime ratio, but fans may want to brace themselves for a repeat of the first story pack with FL4K’s return in September.

New Destiny-Style Open-World Borderlands Game Leaked

A new leak reports that Bungie could be working on a Destiny-style Borderlands game inspired by Borderlands 1 with an open world.

Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2 Confirms the Return of FL4K

The official Borderlands Twitter account shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming FL4K and the Last Resort DLC for Borderlands 4. In this trailer, the Beastmaster from Borderlands 3 continues his Hunt, this time accompanied by the new Vault Hunter, Loveless. FL4K’s beloved pet Skag, Mr. Chew, appears to be missing according to the poster shown in the DLC trailer, prompting the Beastmaster to scour Kairos for his lost companion.

FL4K made his Borderlands series debut as one of the four Vault Hunters playable in Borderlands 3. As the Beastmaster, most FL4K builds in Borderlands 3 focused on his unique pet mechanic, which allowed players to equip the Vault Hunter with either partner Skag, Jabber, or Spiderant that FL4K can command in battle. With FL4K joining the cast of Borderlands 4 on Kairos, Moze is the only Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter missing from this crew.

Like with Zane and Amara before him, FL4K won’t be playable this time around. Instead, the new Vault Hunter, Loveless the Hacker, joins the roster of playable Borderlands 4 characters, marking the sixth and final Vault Hunter in the game. Not much is known about Loveless at this time other than that she is a cyborg and ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin with a digital virus that she has implanted within her mind, and can digistruct into a physical form similar to Zane’s Digi-Clone skill in Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 also includes a new map zone, a new major boss fight, and new Legendary and Pearlescent weapons.

While September 10 is still a ways off, Borderlands fans still have some great content to experience in the meantime. Right now, the first episode of the Borderlands Dead ECHO audio drama is available for streaming on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple, with new episodes releasing weekly. Additionally, Bounty Pack 4 for Borderlands 4 releases on July 30 and brings with it a new mission, new bosses, new Legendary and Pearlescent gear, and more cosmetic options for players’ Vault Hunters, vehicles, and ECHO drones.
