PlayStation Plus is undergoing numerous changes, especially as it pertains to the Monthly Extra and Premium games. It used to be that PS Plus Essential would be revealed one week, added the next, and then PS Plus Extra/Premium would be revealed the next week and aded the following one. While the PS Plus free games (Essential) for July remain the same, PS Plus is experimenting with the way it adds Extra and Premium games.
Instead of the aforementioned cycle where the PS Plus Extra and Premium games are added on one day, they are now being filtered throughout the month. The PS Plus Extra game for July 2026, Rise of Ronin, has already been added for example, but no others. Fans do know what will join the service on its next target date, July 21, which is still a super busy day for the PS Plus service despite the games being spread throughout the month.
PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for July 21 List
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (PS Plus Extra)
- Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (PS Plus Extra)
- Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (PS Plus Premium)
- Indigo Prophecy (PS Plus Premium)
On July 21, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will be able to download and play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and Indigo Prophecy, dependent upon their subscription tier. Overall, it’s a solid variety of games that expands PS Plus’ open-world game, simulation game, and classic game selection. Interested fans should be sure to check their PS4/PS5 around midday to snag these games.

For those unfamiliar, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a Ubisoft open-world game set in the titular franchise, but Ubisoft does break from its typical formula here. The result is still a 72 Metascore after 84 critic reviews, indicating mixed or average reviews. As a whole, it seems like it’s a solid game for fans of the franchise if nothing else. Meanwhile, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite has a 79% Mostly Positive reception on Steam (as there is no Metascore) available and is hailed as one of the best firefighting simulators on the market, thereby expanding the list of great simulation games on PS Plus.

Joining the PS Plus Premium classic games catalog is Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy. Psi-Ops was announced as a PS Plus Premium July game in early June, so it’s been a long time coming. In this 84 Metascore game, players take on the role of Nick Scryer as he becomes involved in a conspiracy surrounding telekinectic powers, which he has developed. They carry its gameplay and helped make it a cult classic back in the day. Indigo Prophecy sits at a 84 Metascore as well and is an interactive narrative game from Detroit: Become Human developer Quantic Dream. In it, players make decisions that impact a narrative surrounding two detectives and Lucas Kane, a man who is supernaturally possessed and commits murder during his possession.
Overall, it’s a solid day for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, and it’ll be interesting to see how they are received. Beyond these games, fans can also expect more additions in July, as well as the PS Plus Monthly Free Games for August 2026 to be revealed before long.
