New Xbox Game Pass Soulslike Mistfall Hunter is already seeing major success, as the game has reached a million players. The impressive accomplishment, which was achieved courtesy of Xbox Game Pass subscribers and players across all other platforms, is being celebrated by Mistfall Hunter‘s developer, and fans will benefit as a result.
Mistfall Hunter has been compared to Elden Ring and ARC Raiders, as the Soulslike puts an interesting fantasy twist on extraction game mechanics. Players can choose to team up with others or to go at it alone, and it also offers cross-platform play, making it particularly inviting for friends across multiple gaming ecosystems.
Mistfall Hunter Celebrates Early Success
On August 6, developer Bellring Games announced that the game had reached a major milestone of a million players. This is a generally impressive number for many games to achieve, but it’s particularly impressive given that Mistfall Hunter only launched a week prior, on July 29. Part of this number was likely achieved due to the game being available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, and especially due to Mistfall Hunter‘s inclusion in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Additionally, though Mistfall Hunter does have optional in-app purchases, the entry price for those without Game Pass is pretty low, with a base cost of $24.99, and a small discount being offered across all systems as of publication time.

Those who have already checked out Mistfall Hunter and those who join in soon will also be able to benefit from this new achievement. Bellring Games has shared its appreciation with its fans, and in honor of the accomplishment, it’s sending a series of goodies to players, including Standing Pose: Spellcasting, Moonlight Nectar x5, Pro Combat Bag x1, and Advanced Combat Bag x1. Players must log in to the game before August 12 at 12:00 UTC+0 in order to get the rewards, which can be found in Mistfall Hunter player mailboxes.
Mistfall Hunter is already looking ahead to the future, and has unveiled some of its plans. The team responded to frequent requests from Mistfall Hunter solo players for a Solo Mode for Brandrgarde, and says that in response, the game will be getting a Solo Mode for Normal and Cataclysm difficulties of Brandrgarde by the middle of Season 1, which will be in September. A client update dropping on August 6 will improve Dried Flower Knot drops and will improve stability of the game. Einherjar Mode has also had the Mist Lord Challenge unlocked.
The team has also shared a roadmap which details the additions it intends to bring to the game through Season 2. Season tasks are being added to the game, including Soul Harvest, which will let players earn currency to unlock exclusive collectibles, Soul Coins, and Moonlight Nectar. Phase 2 of Season 1 will “fully unlock” Season Tasks, add Brandrgarde Solo Mode, and add an Underlord Speed Challenge. Phase 3 introduces a new monster, Golden Woodling, and a Random Match Event called Ancestor’s Tree. Season 2 will introduce a new Javelin weapon, season theme, season-exclusive progression system, and more. While reviews of the game have been mixed so far, it seems that players will have no shortage of things to keep them busy.
