A Legend of Zelda fan is showing their incredible LEGO re-creation of one of the franchise’s most recognizable pieces of equipment, the Hylian Shield. The iconic shield has appeared in nearly every Legend of Zelda game since its debut in Ocarina of Time.
The Legend of Zelda has produced some of the most iconic characters, items, and locations in gaming throughout its 40-year history. Characters like Link, Princess Zelda, and Ganondorf have spanned generations of Zelda games, while individual games have similarly introduced fan-favorites like Midna, Tetra, and Skull Kid. The franchise has also retained some of its most recognizable weapons and items as hallmarks of the series, including the Master Sword, the Hylian Shield, and the Hookshot. Now, one fan has created a masterful LEGO replica of the Hylian Shield, built to scale.

Zelda Fan Crafts Incredible Hylian Shield Replica
A Zelda fan recently shared a video of an incredible recreation of the franchise’s iconic Hylian Shield. The video shows off the full build process for the Hylian Shield, using multicolored blocks to craft the base of the shield before accurately recreating the outside of the shield. The sizable shield is most closely based on modern designs of the Hylian Shield used in games like Skyward Sword, owing to the condensed shape of the trim atop the shield’s blue base. The showcase concludes with a full 360-degree view of the shield, showing off the immaculate front and piecemeal back.

The incredible LEGO Hylian Shield drew plenty of praise from fans, though some corrected a detail on one part of the post. Many fans corrected the wording used by the account sharing the video, which called it the Hero Shield. The Hero’s Shield has seen multiple different iterations in a handful of Zelda games, including a Hylian Shield-inspired appearance in Majora’s Mask and the wooden shield obtained at the start of Wind Waker. Some fans also joked that the shield is inspired by the Breath of the Wild version, suggesting it would shatter after a few hits.
The Zelda franchise was notably one of several Nintendo properties to receive an official LEGO set. The first official collaboration between The Legend of Zelda and LEGO launched in September 2024, with a full set based on the Great Deku Tree. Ocarina of Time received a set in March 2026, depicting the climactic final battle between Link, Zelda, and Ganon in the ruins of Hyrule Castle. LEGO is also heavily rumored to be working on another Zelda set, though the contents of the set have yet to be confirmed.
