Season 3 Reloaded should arrive in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone later this month, and Activision has already revealed some of the details for this midseason update. Season 3 Reloaded is packed with more weapons, additional multiplayer maps, a new Zombies map, and the return of Black Ops 3’s Free Run mode.
Call of Duty Season 3 Reloaded start times
Based on the days left in the battle pass, the Season 3 Reloaded update should arrive to Black Ops 7 and Warzone around April 30. Call of Duty updates typically go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms.
Events and new weapons
There will be new seasonal events with reward tracks that offer cosmetic items as well as the two final weapons for the season.
Activision confirmed the midseason update would include a Call of Duty Endowment event in honor of Military Appreciation Month, a Free Run event with new camos to unlock, and more.
Season 3 Reloaded will introduce the Siren special weapon and the Katana melee weapon for Black Ops 7’s weapon pool. New weapon attachments and more camos will be available to unlock as well.
Multiplayer maps
Onsen is a brand-new small map set within a Japanese hot spring. This map is designed for 6v6 and 2v2. You can see a preview of the Onsen map in the image above.
Hacienda and Summit arrive as remastered maps from past Black Ops games, and these are both standard 6v6 maps.
Free Run returns
In addition to the standard multiplayer maps, a special map arrives to Black Ops 7 for Season 3 Reloaded. Ascent is an obstacle map designed specifically for the return of the parkour-based Free Run mode from Black Ops 3.
Free Run is all about traversing an obstacle course as quickly as possible, and players will be able to test their movement skills across 10 zones within Black Ops 7’s Ascent map.
Two new multiplayer modes
Season 3 Reloaded includes two brand-new game modes called Heat Wave Havoc and Freeze Tag. These are limited-time modes for the midseason update.
In Heat Wave Havoc, players will need to raise their “Heat Level” by supporting the team with non-lethal cooperative actions in a moshpit playlist of Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint. Cooperative actions include revealing enemies, scrambling enemy radars, capturing objectives, and more.
Raising the Heat Level will provide players with the following bonuses:
- Low Heat: Faster Field Upgrade recharge.
- Medium Heat: Faster movement, sprint-to-fire speed, and mid-air mobility.
- Hot: Faster weapon reloads, ADS speed, and swap speed.
- Extra Hot: Equipment refills after eliminating enemies.
- Extra Extra Hot: Increased damage and score for headshots.
Freeze Tag works like the name suggests. Players will become frozen instead of being eliminated when dealt lethal damage. Freezing rival players will earn score points. However, fellow teammates can save their incapacitated allies by reaching and defending their frozen forms, helping to unthaw them in time to rejoin the fight. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
Brand-new Zombies map and more content
The midseason update launches with a brand-new round-based Zombies map called Totenreich. The map is a remote Norwegian fishing town trapped inside the Dark Aether, and it has a WWII-era setting with ties to Richtofen and Group 935.
The update will also include the new Wild Fire field upgrade, which allows players to ignite themselves with fire and gain a speed boost to help them burn enemies that get too close.
Additionally, new “ultra-rarity legacy weapons” will be added to the Mystery Box across the various maps. Treyarch didn’t reveal which classic Call of Duty weapons would be added, but the developer did tease the weapons would be rare and feature stats that “rival Wonder Weapons.”
Warzone gets new modes
Season 3 Reloaded adds two limited-time modes to Warzone with Hot Pursuit and Prop Hunt Royale.
Hot Pursuit is a mode for Black Ops Royale on Avalon. This is inspired by the original Blackout battle royale mode of the same name. Hot Pursuit is basically a game of cops and robbers. Players compete in squads of four and choose to play as either cops or robbers. Designed around vehicular gameplay, players can choose to hop into a police vehicle to track down the robbers or jump in a getaway car to find valuables. Players will respawn so long as one squad member is alive.
Prop Hunt Royale is played as 24v24 matches on Rebirth Island, and it’s much like Call of Duty’s classic Prop Hunt party mode.
This Warzone mode is round-based as teams alternate between Hunters and Props. Props get 30 seconds to hide while Hunters are locked in their spawn. Hunters must attempt to discover and eliminate the enemy team disguised as props. The Props team wins if at least one teammate survives until the end of the round, while the Hunters win if all Prop players are eliminated. The first team to win three rounds wins the match.
This is just some of the content already announced for Season 3 Reloaded, and more events and details will likely be revealed closer to launch. Midseason updates typically include new challenges, weapon tuning, and bug fixes as well.
