Remedy Entertainment recently stated that Control Resonant has gone gold with a month to go before it’s September 24 launch on all supported platforms. Control Resonant is a direct sequel to 2019’s Control and will utilize Remedy’s proprietary Northlight Engine.
Though the first Control game was a third-person shooter, Control Resonant is instead an action RPG where players will assume the role of Dylan Faden. Set in a twisted version of downtown Manhattan, Dylan is tasked by the Federal Bureau of Control to hunt down a powerful entity that has escaped the Bureau. Early gameplay demonstrations of Control Resonant have received positive feedback for its combat that rewards both careful dodging and controlling enemies with hard-hitting combos.
Control Resonant Goes Gold a Month Ahead of Release
Thankfully, fans will not have to wait much longer to get their hands on Control Resonant and experience its gameplay. Remedy Entertainment confirmed on August 18 that Control Resonant had gone gold. This means that the game has ended its main development cycle and is playable from start to finish without any major problems. Ergo, Control Resonant will launch digitally in its entirety come Thursday, September 24. The announcement came over a month ahead of Control Resonant’s launch date. However, Remedy will use the additional time ahead of launch for further optimization and to squash any lingering bugs or issues that the game may have.

Pre-orders for Control Resonant‘s physical and digital editions are now available for users to peruse. All digital pre-orders will come with the Hiss Corruption Outfit and Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact as pre-order bonuses at no additional cost. The standard digital edition of Control Resonant starts at $59.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will grant users access to some additional in-game cosmetics, a digital art book, and digital soundtrack for an additional $10. However, users interested in purchasing Control Resonant on a PlayStation 5 console will get a few exclusive bonuses. PS5 users who pre-order Control Resonant‘s Digital Deluxe Edition will gain 48 hours of exclusive early access to the game. Additionally, all PS5 pre-orders of Control Resonant will include the Occult Outfit.as an exclusive pre-order bonus, alongside other bonuses available on the Xbox and PC clients.
While Control Resonant has wrapped up its main development cycle, its full release will be handled in two phases. Along with the aforementioned digital launch, the physical launch of Control Resonant has been pushed back to Thursday, October 15, just three weeks after digital distribution begins. Remedy Entertainment stated the slight delay was to ensure all interested PS5 and Xbox Series X users could obtain a copy of the game without further issues. Physical copies of Control Resonant will include the standard edition and a collectible Steelbook Edition that includes the game on a physical Ultra HD Blu-ray disc for PS5 and Xbox Series X console users to enjoy.
However, the arrival of Control Resonant will come amid a loaded September slate of video game releases. With titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword also arriving throughout the month, it remains to be seen how Control Resonant will fare by comparison.
