Crimson Desert Releases Patch Notes for Update 1.15

Pearl Abyss releases a brand-new update for Crimson Desert, though unlike recent updates, this one is largely interested in fixing issues and stabilizing the game for players. Since its launch, Crimson Desert has seen a major evolution driven largely by player behavior in-game and feedback provided to the developers. The result has been massive for the game, both in keeping players happy while attracting others through positive word of mouth.

Unfortunately, initial reviews of Crimson Desert proved to be more mixed than anticipated, resulting in a 30% drop in shares. However, Pearl Abyss focused on its players with rapid-fire updates to Crimson Desert, fixing issues, addressing frustrations, and adding new content. The result was a huge boost to the player base as well as the game rocketing past major sales milestones. While things may have settled a bit in recent months, Pearl Abyss continues to update the game, with plans for bigger content drops in the future.

Crimson Desert Studio Promises Continued Support As Long As There’s Demand

Pearl Abyss discusses the constant updates Crimson Desert receives, promising to continue the support to help keep the player base high.

While previous updates for Crimson Desert have typically added major new features and content, such as tweaking the control schemes or adding the popular Re-blockade endgame enhancement, the July 23 update is a bit smaller than what players have come to expect. Despite not containing new features to dig into, the patch itself is important for keeping things stable as it fixes numerous issues plaguing the experience for fans.

For players who enjoy some of the quieter moments of Crimson Desert, specifically the housing and farming aspects of the game, this patch fixes a couple of issues related to growing and harvesting crops. In addition, there was an issue that made large fish being transported on the player’s back disappear when collecting other fish from a trap. Players using either Oongka or Damiane can also save their loadouts, as the issue that prevented the lock status of equipped gear from staying saved has finally been resolved.

The patch also addresses a bigger issue that has seemingly arisen from the recently added Cross Save feature for Crimson Desert. Originally added in patch 1.14, Cross Save allowed players to continue their journey through Pywel across PlayStation, Xbox, or PC through the same save data. However, it seems like some players were experiencing crashing-related issues specifically when attempting to load the data on a different platform. With this update, that bug has been fixed, meaning players can once again hop around various platforms.

For those looking for new content to dig into, they’ll need to wait a bit longer. Even though patches tend to release each week, Pearl Abyss has bigger plans currently in the works as the developer teased major DLC coming to Crimson Desert. While the admission was light on details or even a timeframe of when to expect it, Director of marketing and PR, Will Powers, hinted that the upcoming project was specifically labeled as DLC and there’s a good reason why the studio is taking that approach to it. With Gamescom right around the corner, some fans are hoping to see a glimpse at what Pearl Abyss has planned, but for now, players will need to wait a bit longer.
