The official Destiny 2 account on Twitter shared a post about two armor sets being disabled to prevent issues, and they may never be re-enabled again. Destiny 2 is, unfortunately, facing permanent end-of-service after its final hotfix, presumably coming on Tuesday, July 7, which also happens to be Bungie Day. The patch was scheduled to be delivered this week on June 30, but the layoffs at Bungie made it tough to make any final changes to the game on time.
Destiny 2 May Be Stuck in ‘Reputation Hell’ Forever
Destiny 2 is entering a hibernation phase, facing end of service, meaning current issues may never be fixed.
Say Goodbye to These Armor Sets in Destiny 2
- Grasp of Avarice Dungeon 4-Piece Bonus: Overflowing Coffers
- Duality Dungeon 4-Piece Bonus: Bittersweet
Just one hour ago, the official Twitter account shared a post stating that the 4-piece armor sets from Destiny 2‘s Monument of Triumph update are being disabled in the Crucible (all PvP activities) due to being overtuned and causing issues. Normally, this would mean that the items are re-enabled at a later date with fixed values and/or with different perks, but since Bungie laid off almost the entire Destiny 2 development team, there will be no form of support whatsoever for the game going forward. Due to the items being too strong in the Crucible, the only option for the team at Bungie right now is to disable them. So, starting next week (or whenever the final hotfix comes out), these armor set bonuses will no longer work in PvP for the remainder of Destiny 2‘s lifespan.
