Destiny 2 Officially Disables Meta Exotic Weapon in One Activity

Destiny 2 Officially Disables Meta Exotic Weapon in One Activity

Destiny 2‘s final hotfix is confirmed for tomorrow, July 7, and it disables a popular Exotic weapon in one key activity. Destiny 2‘s abrupt end has been strange to witness for fans, who went from expecting news about the upcoming expansion, Shattered Cycle, to seeing the announcement that end-of-service was following a final update on June 9. Things moved so quickly that after not even one full month since the final update, Bungie is now releasing the final hotfix for the game, and any future issues will likely not be addressed or result in items being disabled.

In fact, Bungie Comms Manager dmg04 has previously stated that hypothetical bugs may result in items being disabled rather than addressed as they normally would be. This is because of the layoffs at Bungie impacting most of the Destiny 2 team, and no resources allocated towards the game’s future, even for hotfixes. Due to this, Destiny 2 is disabling two armor sets tomorrow, and while this only affects Crucible, it will never be fixed properly, and the sets will stay banned.

A Destiny 2 player shares a glitch that allows fans to easily farm Tier 5 meta armor sets, and the good news is it won’t be fixed.

Destiny 2 is Officially Disabling Divinity in Pantheon

Destiny 2‘s official comms Twitter account shared a post with a preview of tomorrow’s patch notes, stating that the Exotic trace rifle Divinity will be disabled in Pantheon 2.0’s Insurrection Prime encounter. This is due to a recently discovered issue that allowed players to sit at the spawn point of the encounter and use Divinity’s weakening cage on the boss to then shoot it without even doing the encounter’s mechanics. What followed was that LFG posts were all about using this strategy to skip the encounter’s mechanics entirely, and players not abiding by the specific instructions and loadouts were kicked out of the activity. Now, Bungie is disabling Divinity entirely in the Insurrection Prime fight, and players will no longer be able to use it, even if they follow the mechanics.

The game’s comms account jokingly said that players will now have to learn how to beat the encounter properly. With Divinity disabled, Destiny 2‘s Insurrection Prime cheese will no longer work, but this also affects proper DPS strategies after doing the mechanics. The team at Bungie is aware of this, but a follow-up comment states that “there are numerous ways to weaken the boss to increase damage.”

This is especially true now, as all Destiny 2 Artifacts in Monuments of Triumph include ways to increase damage, and weakening options can come from weapons like Fafnir and Tractor Cannon or via grenade launchers and the Weakened Clear Artifact mod. Still, it’s tough to see another Destiny 2 item being disabled instead of fixed less than a month after the final patch.

Should more issues like this arise, it’s very likely that the team at Bungie will be forced to disable even more items. For now, though, the game is in a good state, and players have plenty of content to enjoy through Monument of Triumph. And for those looking for Destiny 2 endgame solo builds, those exist as well. Not only that, but two Raid encounters can also be cheesed solo with Finishers, and they are Crota from Crota’s End and Morgeth from Pantheon.
