Diablo 4 players have discovered a way to spawn thousands of Treasure Goblins in a single Nightmare Dungeon run. Typically, Diablo 4‘s Treasure Goblins are rare spawns that attempt to flee from players as soon as they spawn, dropping rare loot for players lucky enough to catch and slay one. With this exploit, Diablo 4 players can essentially grind for the game’s rarest loot in minutes with the correct setup.
With the release of Lord of Hatred, Diablo 4‘s endgame loot chase has become more rewarding than ever before. Not only does the new War Plans feature allow players to target specific types of endgame activities with different modifiers to customize their experience, but the addition of the Talisman and Charms mechanic gives players a new type of loot to chase. As players uncover the ideal combination of War Plans upgrades, a setup has come to light that gives players an easy way to get an enormous amount of loot, including some of the most coveted Charms, Talismans, and other endgame gear.
Diablo 4 Season 13’s Best Mythic Farm is Virtually Unbeatable
Farming Mythics can be a time-consuming grind, but Diablo 4 Season 13 offers players a simple way to earn more powerful items fast.
Diablo 4’s Treasure Goblin Exploit Yields Ridiculous Loot Drops
Diablo YouTuber FP was the first creator to discover this exploit, uploading a video that showcased just how many Treasure Goblins they could spawn with this method. In the video, FP is shown slaying thousands of Treasure Goblins with the very powerful Whirlwind Barbarian build, which allows them to move quickly through the dungeon, constantly slaying enemies along the way. As the video goes on, the screen fills with drops like Set Charms, Uniques, and even a few Mythic items as well.

To take advantage of this insane exploit, players need to invest in the Gauntlet node of the War Plans upgrade tree for Nightmare Dungeons. This upgrade traps an enemy soul when the player kills them while a Shrine buff is active, respawning all enemies slain this way when the Shrine buff ends. So, essentially, RP found a Treasure Goblin spawn in a Nightmare Dungeon and slayed it while a Shrine buff was active, allowing it to respawn when the Shrine buff ended, immediately starting a new Shrine buff and slaying the newly spawned Treasure Goblin to restart the process.
However, not just any Treasure Goblin can be used for this method. Diablo 4 has several varieties of Treasure Goblins, each with its own potential drops.
- Odious Ector — Crafting materials and Obducite
- Gilded Baron — Gold
- Glittering Prym — Gem Fragments, Runes, and Undercity Tributes
- Curious Murl — Obols
- Gelatinous Syrus — Splits into smaller goblins when killed, each of which can drop loot such as gear, boss items, and Gold
- Fancy Old Fedric — Mythic Uniques and Resplendent Sparks
For this particular farm, players will need to find Gelatinous Syrus, the blue Treasure Goblin, just like FP did, and trap its soul in a Shrine using the effects of the Gauntlet War Plans upgrade. Since Syrus breaks into smaller goblins when killed, these goblins count as separate souls that become trapped, respawning as full-sized Syrus goblins when the Shrine buff ends.

Theoretically, this would allow players to spawn tens of thousands of goblins, provided they use a Nightmare Dungeon key with a Shrines affix to ensure there are enough Shrines throughout to restart the method. It’s unclear if this is an intended effect or if Blizzard will patch out this exploit in a future update. A recent Diablo 4 hotfix nerfed the best Warlock build by fixing a bug with its Legion Shard, so this exploit may get a swift nerf in the near future.
