Diablo 4 Season 14 Has an S-Tier Build That’s Basically a 2-for-1 Deal

Diablo 4 Season 14 Has an S-Tier Build That’s Basically a 2-for-1 Deal

Diablo 4 Season 14 sees the Barbarian once again at the top of the meta. Following its massive success in Diablo 4‘s meta last season, the Barbarian once again is proving to be one of the best options for players diving into Season 14. One of the best builds for Barbarians in Diablo 4 Season 14 is also very versatile, allowing players to utilize two key skills in rotation to pummel enemies into submission.

The main focus of Diablo 4‘s Season of Death Awakening is the rework of Mythic Uniques. Now, Mythic is no longer a rarity but an item quality, meaning any Unique has the chance to become Mythic, and Uniques can be upgraded into a Mythic in the Horadric Cube. This new system helps to revitalize some of the existing Diablo 4 Barbarian builds and lays the foundation for a build that combines Mighty Throw and Call of the Ancients to thrive.

Diablo 4 Season 14 Finally Makes its Worst Mythic Unique Viable

The changes to Mythics in Diablo 4 Season 14 make one of the worst pieces of gear a surprisingly great option for some of the best builds.

Diablo 4’s S-Tier Mighty Throw Barbarian Build Doubles as a Call of the Ancients Build

Call of the Ancients was a focal point of the best Barbarian builds from Diablo 4‘s previous season. Lord of Hatred’s reworked Skill Tree allows more Barbarian Skills to summon Ancients, creating the “Minion Barbarian” archetype that puts Call of the Ancients at the center. Now, Mighty Throw can join this setup thanks to the potential for Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus to be Mythic, allowing this build to optimize its DPS output by scaling with maximum Fury for a double whammy of powerful offensive skills.

Skills to Use on this Barbarian Build

  • Juggernaut Iron Skin
  • Talic Challenging Shout
  • Korlic War Cry
  • Booming Rallying Cry
  • Mightiest Mighty Throw
  • Empowered Call of the Ancients

With Mighty Throw and Call of the Ancients, the two main damage-dealing skills on this build, Diablo 4 Barbarians can use their Shouts plus Iron Skin to buff their offense and defense while also summoning additional Ancients into battle. Iron Skin with the Juggernaut upgrade grants Unstoppable and knocks enemies back in addition to already giving players a Barrier.

Challenging Shout and War Cry both utilize their respective Ancient upgrades, summoning minions to deal damage when activated. Rallying Cry’s Booming upgrade grants the Barbarian 40% more resource generation and a 10% increase in movement speed. The increased resource generation is particularly important since this build aims to scale damage with the Barbarian’s generated Fury resource.

The Mightiest upgrade for Mighty Throw is used on this build to transform the skill into an Ultimate, but it significantly increases its damage as a result. Once used, the thrown weapon from Mighty Throw pulses to deal additional damage via its shock waves, essentially dealing damage over time. While on cooldown, Call of the Ancients can be used to supplement Mighty Throw to keep the damage output constant as players tackle hordes of demons.

Key Legendary Aspects to Use on this Barbarian Build

  • Edgemaster’s Aspect
  • Wildbolt Aspect
  • Crushing Aspect
  • Conceited Aspect
  • Progenitor’s Aspect
  • Vehement Brawler’s Aspect
  • Aspect of Apogeic Furor

Edgemaster’s Aspect is crucial to this build since it increases the Barbarian’s damage based on their available primary resource, being most effective at full Fury. This creates synergy with Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus but requires the player to keep their Fury topped up at all times. To make the most of Mighty Throw, the Wildbolt Aspect is necessary, since it pulls enemies toward the Barbarian every 1.5-3 seconds, allowing players to easily group enemies together before hitting them with Mighty Throw.

The Crushing and Conceited Aspects have a similar function, increasing the damage the player deals when Fortified or when a Barrier is active, respectively. These Legendary Aspects work in tandem with the Barbarian’s Shouts to buff their offense as well as their defense when used. Adding the Progenitor’s Aspect to this build further increases the damage that Ancients summoned by these Shouts deal.

With Mighty Throw becoming an Ultimate Skill for the Barbarian, the Vehement Brawler and Apogeic Furor Aspects become essential. Vehement Brawler increases the Barbarian’s damage after casting an Ultimate Skill while also adding +2 additional ranks to their Ultimate Skills. Meanwhile, the Aspect of Apogeic Furor reduces the cooldowns of the Barbarian’s other skills whenever they cast an Ultimate, allowing players to refresh their Shouts quickly.

Unique and Mythics to Use on this Barbarian Build

The Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty is an appropriate, if not important, piece of this setup, since it allows the Barbarian to constantly generate Fury when they gain Berserking while already in the Berserk state. Keeping Fury topped up is critical to getting the maximum damage out of this Diablo 4 Barbarian build. Arreat’s Bearing adds another Ancient summon to non-Ultimate Ancient summoning skills, while also giving Call of the Ancients’ summons increased damage.

The two Mythic Uniques used for this Diablo 4 build are The Grandfather and Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus. Thanks to the Mythic 3.0 update in Diablo 4 Season 14, Ramaladni’s Magum Opus can become Mythic and gain a 30% increase to its Unique power. Ramaladni’s Magum Ops already increases DPS according to the player’s Fury, meaning its Mythic version will allow for an even greater damage output. The Grandfather vastly increases the Barbarian’s Critical Strike Damage, making it a fearsome weapon as well.

How to Play a Combo Mighty Throw/Call of the Ancients Barbarian in Diablo 4 Season 14

Despite having to manage the cooldowns for two different Ultimate Skills, having both Mighty Throw and Call of the Ancients on this Barbarian build makes gameplay fairly straightforward. To start, players will want to activate all of their Shouts and Iron Skin when preparing to engage enemies. This effectively deals with a large portion of weaker foes thanks to the Ancients summoned by Challenging Shout and War Cry. Then, players can cast Mighty Throw once they have enemies grouped together. The final piece of this puzzle is Call of the Ancients, which can be used alongside Mighty Throw to deal damage while it’s on cooldown, while also reducing the cooldowns of Shouts via the Aspect of Apogeic Furor to begin the combat loop again.
