Diablo 4 Season 14 is Making a Huge Change to Uniques

Blizzard is making a significant change to Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 14, after many players complained about how RNG-dependent they had become after previous adjustments in Lord of Hatred. This change should resolve most players’ issues with Diablo 4 Uniques in their current form.

Uniques Have Two Set Affixes in Diablo 4 Season 14

After Blizzard released Diablo 4 Season 14’s patch notes, one important line caught players’ attention. “All Unique items now have 2 guaranteed affixes when dropped.” This is an absolutely enormous change to Diablo 4 Uniques, and an admission from the developer that its changes in Lord of Hatred had made them too RNG-focused. Ultimately, this meant that it was much harder for players to put together their ideal build and find the exact items they want, whereas in Season 14, Uniques having two guaranteed affixes makes it so they know exactly what they need to farm to complete their build.

There are more changes coming to Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 14. Another line in the patch notes states that “Unique, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic Items can now have affixes altered via Enchanting,” so even if there is an affix that a player wants to re-roll and add that RNG element back into their build, they have the option. It’s just not an absolute necessity, now. There’s also the fact that “Chaotic and Focused Reroll Transfigurations have been removed for Unique and Mythic Unique items,” and “added affixes from Enchanting, Transfiguration, and Tempering are always max rolls when added to a Mythic Unique.” There’s a lot changing here, and it’s good to see that Blizzard has quickly taken player feedback on board to ensure the community is excited about Season 14 once again.
