Use An Interactive Map

Players who are attempting to find the location of the first Seeker’s Token that they collected are advised to begin by traveling to Borderwatch Outpost, the settlement that is visited just after completing the game’s opening sequence at the excavation site. Upon reaching Borderwatch Outpost, fans should use this Dragon’s Dogma 2 interactive map to view the locations of every Seeker’s Token in the game. Players should then start checking the locations to the west of Borderwatch Outpost, around Melve, and on the path to Vernworth, as it is likely that the first Seeker’s Token that they collected was in one of those early-game areas.

It is highly recommended that players who have unlocked the
Trickster vocation in
Dragon’s Dogma 2

equip its Detection augment before employing this strategy. For the uninitiated, that augment causes tokens, including the Finder’s Token that replaces the first collected Seeker’s Token, to blink and make a sound, and it can be very helpful when searching.

One final thing to say about this strategy is that it can be quite time-consuming, and it may take Dragon’s Dogma 2 players more than seven in-game days to locate the Finder’s Token. Fans are thus advised to rest at an inn before they put too much effort toward visiting Seeker’s Token locations, as that action will create a save that can be used if the player is unable to find the location of their first Seeker’s Token before they reach the time limit imposed by the Sphinx.

Use Mods on PC

PC players have two great tools for obtaining the Finder’s Token that is needed to solve the Riddle of Rumination in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Those tools take the form of mods, and here are details on both of them:

  • Riddle of Rumination Marker: This mod, which was created by gibbed, does exactly what its name suggests: it adds a marker to the map in the position of a player’s first collected Seeker’s Token. Some fans do report that they are not able to locate the Finder’s Token in the marked position, though, and players that find themselves in that situation may want to give the next mod a try.
  • Crazy’s Shop: This mod, which was created by Crazy Potato, adds a ton of items to the shops in Vernworth, including the Finder’s Token that is used to solve the Riddle of Rumination.

Get a Forged Finder’s Token from Another Player

While this is not technically a strategy for finding the location of the first collected Seeker’s Token, players can complete the Riddle of Rumination by getting a forged Finder’s Token and giving it to the Sphinx. To obtain such an item, fans should search the Dragon’s Dogma subreddit and the Dragon’s Dogma 2 subreddit for “finder’s token.” This search will generate threads with players who are willing to gift forged Finder’s Tokens to other players’ pawns, and they can use the forgery to solve the riddle once they have it in hand.

NG+

If a player is unable to obtain a Finder’s Token with any of the previously detailed strategies, or is simply not interested in trying them, they can always save the Riddle of Rumination for NG+. Indeed, players will have the opportunity to collect a new first Seeker’s Token once they beat Dragon’s Dogma 2 and start a second playthrough. Fans should make absolutely sure that they note the position of that token, though, or they may find themselves unable to return to it when the Sphinx instructs them to do so.
