Elder Scrolls Fans Are Using Starfield to Figure Out What ES6’s Hammerfell Might Look Like

The Elder Scrolls 6 is still nowhere in sight, and fans of Bethesda’s beloved fantasy series have been using the developer’s most recent game, Starfield, to try to predict what Hammerfell could look like. This summer will mark eight years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced, and the game has been shrouded in mystery ever since.

In the past eight years, Bethesda has released Starfield, and Amazon has turned Fallout into an incredibly successful live-action TV series. Starfield launched back in 2023, and while the project was ambitious, it has struggled to hold the same magic that The Elder Scrolls and Fallout have managed. A lot of gamers are desperate for The Elder Scrolls 6 news, but Bethesda has remained incredibly tight-lipped about how far along the project actually is. The game’s setting hasn’t even been confirmed, but that hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing that Hammerfell will be the next chapter’s main location.

Reddit user sirferrell went to The Elder Scrolls 6 subreddit to share a few Starfield screenshots that they believe could resemble what Hammerfell might look like. In-game shots of craggy mountains covered in red sand, bodies of water lined by palm trees, and dry deserts make up the slideshow. This makes sense, considering that Hammerfell features a blend of desert regions and tropical locations. It has a very Mediterranean vibe, and it could make for a really diverse Elder Scrolls 6 map.

Using Starfield as a way to get an idea of what Hammerfell could look like makes sense. Starfield was built with Bethesda’s Creation Engine 2, and with The Elder Scrolls 6 using Creation Engine 3, the space adventure will be more similar graphically than the likes of Skyrim or Fallout 4. This slideshow has generated mixed feelings from some fellow fans. Many in the comments have voiced their opinions that they hope The Elder Scrolls 6 looks a lot better than Starfield, while others have noted that the sci-fi RPG is the best-looking game that Bethesda has made yet. Creation Engine 2 was a big leap forward for the developer, so it’s going to be interesting to see how much further Creation Engine 3 takes its visuals.

Despite theories, it’s also important to remember that Bethesda hasn’t confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be set in Hammerfell. The next chapter could end up surprising everyone, so only time will tell if these Starfield screenshots are an accurate representation of The Elder Scrolls 6‘s location.

Gamers Are Hoping This is the Year That Brings Fresh ES6 News

The next Xbox Games Showcase has some Elder Scrolls fans hopeful that another trailer will be revealed, but this might be wishful thinking. Almost every time there is a new Xbox event now, The Elder Scrolls 6 inevitably gets brought up. Of course, nothing is impossible. Current speculation is predicting that The Elder Scrolls 6‘s release target could be anywhere between 2027 and 2028, and Bethesda is probably going to be very careful to avoid making an announcement too soon again.
