The Epic Games Store has officially announced its October 1 giveaway, which will feature two titles, including the critically acclaimed visual novel Buried Stars. The newly revealed promotion is worth just under $70, making it one of the Epic Games Store’s most valuable giveaways of 2026.
Between September 17 and 24, Epic gave away detective adventure Mindcop and roguelite Shogun Showdown. That promotion has now ended, replaced by a dual offer featuring Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles and Mechabellum. As soon as the new giveaway went live, Epic also revealed the lineup for the following promotion, which is scheduled to begin on October 1.
Epic’s October 1 Giveaway Features Buried Stars and System Shock 2 Remaster
In addition to Buried Stars, the first Epic Games Store giveaway for October 2026 features the year-old System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. Both will be available to claim for the usual seven-day period, until October 8 at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET / 5 p.m. CET.

Buried Stars and the System Shock 2 remaster are typically priced at $39.99 and $29.99, respectively, giving the upcoming giveaway a combined value of $69.98. That makes it the platform’s most valuable weekly promotion since the Epic Game Store gave away roughly $80 worth of mystery games in late May 2026.
