A Brief Intro to Songs of Conquest

Songs of Conquest is a fantasy turn-based strategy game created by Swedish studio Lavapotion and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. It was originally launched as an early access title in May 2022 before receiving a 1.0 release in May 2024. Its overall reception was largely positive, as reflected in its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 82 and four in five critics recommending it. Songs of Conquest‘s player reviews appear to be similarly strong as of mid-2026, with the strategy game having a 4.6-star rating on the Epic Games Store and “Very Positive” player reviews on Steam. Apart from a tight gameplay loop involving resource gathering, tactical faction campaigns, and settlement building, Songs of Conquest was also praised for its gorgeous sprite work.

A Brief Intro to Rogue Waters

Developed by Polish studio Ice Code Games and published by Tripwire Presents, Rogue Waters is a well-received pirate-themed tactical roguelite that was originally released in September 2024. It debuted as one of the highest-rated pirate games in recent years, reflected by its 81 average score and 78% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Its gameplay loop centers on ship management, naval combat, and grid-based boarding fights, with roguelite-style meta progression that makes later runs easier than earlier attempts.
