Epic Games Store Users Have Another Free Game to Claim for May, But They Need to Act Fast

Epic Games Store users have until May 17 to claim a narrative-driven detective game called Vaudeville, which isn’t part of the storefront’s regular weekly free game rotation. While Epic Games Store users typically expect a couple of free titles each week, this promotion appears to be a separate offer, likely organized by the developer itself.

Currently, the Epic Games Store’s weekly freebies are Sunderfolk and The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition. On May 21, the storefront will also add two mystery games to the lineup, effectively giving away four titles to its users. With such a packed schedule, it’s easy for gamers to overlook Vaudeville and its limited-time promotion.

Every Free Game Released On The Epic Games Store (May 2026)

Here’s a list of all the games that have been made free on the Epic Games Store. You have until May 14 to get the current free games.

Vaudeville Is Currently Free on the Epic Games Store

Vaudeville‘s free-to-claim offer ends on May 17 at 6:00 AM, giving freebie hunters only a short window to add it to their libraries. Notably, the promotion is exclusive to the Epic Games Store, while the game’s Steam version still carries a $20 price tag at the time of writing. Developed by Bumblebee Studios, Vaudeville launched in 2023 as an “experimental whodunit” adventure, with the main selling point being its creative use of artificial intelligence.

In Vaudeville, players take on the role of a private investigator tasked with solving three murder cases. What sets the experience apart from other crime-solving games is that the player’s primary tool is conversation itself. Every NPC in the game is powered by artificial intelligence and can respond to questions based on their own personality traits and backstory. As a result, Vaudeville essentially plays like a conversation-driven murder mystery.

Vaudeville Recommended PC Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 2.8GHz / AMD Ryzen 7
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia RTX 2070 / AMD 6600
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 30 GB available space

Fans may want to keep their expectations in check, as Vaudeville currently holds Mixed reviews on Steam, where it is priced at $20. Most players agree that the premise is interesting, but many feel the execution falls short. According to user impressions, the performances are not exactly natural, and because the game revolves around ChatGPT-style conversations, NPCs can sometimes take a while to respond. Even so, fans of unique thriller games have little reason not to give Vaudeville a shot while it’s free, especially since it won’t cost them anything beyond the time spent trying it out.

Currently, the Epic Games Store is also running another promotion packed with freebies. Through the Epic Extras Spotlight, users can claim a $10 Drivers Mega Pack for Monogil, along with several other free DLC packs for games such as Wuthering Waves, Infinity Nikki, World of Warships, Asphalt Legends, Rocket League, and Fortnite. The promotion is part of the Epic Games Store’s MEGA Sale celebration and will remain available until June 11 at 11 AM ET. Fans should also keep an eye on the Epic Games Store on May 21, as the storefront will reveal its next two free mystery games on that day. Steam users also have at least six free games to look out for in May and June, though not all of them have been confirmed as of this writing.
