For the first five months of 2026, Epic largely adhered to its usual practice of announcing its weekly giveaways seven days in advance. That pattern changed with the May 7 launch of the store’s Trash Goblin and Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure freebies. Instead of revealing the May 14 lineup alongside those offers, Epic only teased that two mystery games would be given away the following week.

The Epic Games Store’s May 14 freebies have now been officially revealed as Sunderfolk: Standard Edition and The Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition. Both are available to claim between May 14 and May 21, beginning and ending at 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT / 5 p.m. CET. Based on their full retail prices, the new freebies are worth a combined $79.98. Neither The Telltale Batman nor Sunderfolk has previously been free on the Epic Games Store.

What Is The Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition?
The Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition is a visually updated re-release of Telltale’s two episodic Batman adventure games. It bundles Batman: The Telltale Series and Batman: The Enemy Within with a Shadows Mode add-on that recasts both titles in a darker, noir-inspired visual style. Telltale has described the package as the complete version of its Batman series, featuring ten episodes’ worth of hand-recolored gameplay. Epic’s Mystery Game giveaway will continue on May 21 with two more freebies. Based on this week’s selection, the promotion does not appear to have a specific theme, as is sometimes the case with Epic’s giveaways.
