The Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake Gets a Title Shake-Up With Resident Evil Veronica
The Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake is finally a reality, and it’s now called Resident Evil Veronica. Rumors about this remake have been circulating for a long time now. Last year’s event revealed RE Requiem, and Capcom is continuing its hot streak with a creepy teaser trailer at this year’s showcase. There isn’t an official release date yet, but the end of the trailer at least confirmed that it’s planned for 2027.

Cuphead Sequel and Mighty Cuphead Adventure
Cuphead is back in the spotlight after nearly a decade with a confirmed sequel. Developer Studio MDHR revealed that the team is working on a brand-new hand-drawn chapter. As exciting as that is, the announcement made it clear that the new Cuphead game is still in its early stages, so it will probably be a while before it’s complete. That isn’t all, though. Mighty Cuphead Adventure is a charming retro-inspired platformer that also has yet to have a launch window.
Alien: Isolation 2
Summer Game Fest offered a new look at Alien: Isolation 2. This isn’t the first teaser trailer for Alien: Isolation 2, but it’s the biggest look we’ve gotten so far. The game is still shrouded in mystery, but it’s confirmed to be set on Kurosaki Station, an isolated base that is settled on a mysterious planet. Alien: Isolation 2 features a blend of claustrophobic indoor survival mixed with outdoor environments with harsh weather.
Project Robot is Officially Gen Atlas
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus director Fumito Ueda finally revealed the name of his new game. Gen Atlas continues Ueda’s fascination with giant titan-like beings, but this time, they are stone-like robot mechs. It has the staple vibes of Ueda-made games like Shadow of the Colossus, but it also has its own unique identity.
Blood Message
Blood Message is a beautiful-looking, story-driven action title from NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment Lin’an Studio. The game takes place during the era of the late Tang Dynasty in the year 848 AD, and it’s filled with plenty of bloody, breathtaking combat. It’s clear that the game is going to be a deeply cinematic experience, but it has yet to reveal a release date.
Stranger Than Heaven Reveals Release Date and Wild New Cast Member
Stranger Than Heaven has been highly anticipated ever since it was announced at The Game Awards in 2024. It now finally has a release date of January 15, 2027. It’s now set to be one of the first big releases of next year, but that wasn’t the only big announcement during its reveal. The Stranger Than Heaven cast is adding Tupac to the lineup. Yes, that Tupac.
Haex
The trailer for trippy co-op survival shooter Haex was filled with wild alien-like creatures, mind-bending level designs, and tense teases of survival gameplay. Haex looks like an unexpected blend between games like Sons of the Forest and Control. Surviving the strange world while collecting alien abilities is the central focus of this game, and it supports up to four players.
Dead By Daylight Teases Its 10th Anniversary
It’s hard to believe that the Dead By Daylight 10th anniversary is this year. The asymmetric horror hit premiered a spine-chilling sneak peek at what to expect from the birthday celebration. Naturally, the short trailer was birthday-themed, but it seemed like the worst party ever. Flashes of gore and creepy imagery hinted at something horrifying on the way. There were specifically a lot of balloons shown throughout the teaser, so it could possibly be setting up a new Dead By Daylight crossover with IT and Pennywise. This is just speculation, though.
Mortal Shell 2
This open-world action RPG is a standalone sequel to the original Mortal Shell, and it’s filled with intense combat and exploration. Mortal Shell 2‘s open world isn’t the only big selling point, though. The game promises a more in-depth upgrade system, more dynamic weapons, and plenty of challenges. The release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Mortal Shell 2‘s open beta is now live on Steam.
Sand: Raiders of Sophie
This steampunk western is focused on survival, base building, and extraction gameplay. Like the name suggests, Sand: Raiders of Sophie takes place in a vast desert. Players are tasked with crafting and customizing machines called Tramplers to help traverse the dangerous landscapes while also managing resources and fighting for survival. Sand: Raiders of Sophie adds to the list of new extraction shooters, and it’s set to release for PC on June 10.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Another look at Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced gameplay. The trailer was a compelling new teaser featuring a fresh version of “Leave Her Johnny” performed by Woodkid. The moody new take on the song set the tone for the trailer, as plenty of drama and action was teased ahead of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s July 9 launch.
The Last Ronin Shows a Darker Side of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Last Ronin game has been in the works for a while now, but Summer Game Fest revealed that the project is now being developed by PlatinumGames. The studio is known for games like Bayonetta and Nier: Automata, which sounds like a great fit for The Last Ronin. The reveal was very brief, but it will be fascinating to see how PlatinumGames adapts the beloved TMNT comic series.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
That’s right, a new Gundam game is on the way. The Gundam series is one of the most beloved animes around, and a new game is bound to be good news for fans. Much of the game is still shrouded in mystery at the moment, but the trailer promised plenty of cinematic moments and intense action and combat sequences. A release date has yet to be revealed, but it’s slated for 2027.
An Eggstremeley Hard Game
In this co-op physics-based game, players take on the role of two parent geese who must protect their newly laid egg as they journey home. This looks like a pretty fun co-op game that is bound to cause plenty of hilarious frustration with its many wild obstacles and challenging controls.
Crossfire is Made by Ex-PlayStation and Call of Duty Devs
This game looked like an intense single-player narrative-driven action game featuring plenty of stealth and sweat-inducing moments. One of the core mechanics that developer That’s No Moon boasts is Crossfire‘s Adaptive Cover. The game’s protagonist will automatically adjust their stance and position when in hiding to adapt to the game’s terrain, adding a deeper sense of realism.
Control Resonant
We got a fresh look into Control Resonant not long ago at the recent Sony State of Play, and the Summer Game Fest trailer once again leaned hard into Remedy Entertainment’s special brand of strangeness. Control Resonant is scheduled to launch on September 24.
Guild Wars 3
The Guild Wars 3 announcement claimed that the game would be the “next evolution of the MMO RPG.” It’s unclear exactly what all that entails right now, but the game will be coming to both PC and PS5. The beta is planned for Fall 2027.
Star Wars Galactic Racer
This was the biggest look at Star Wars Galactic Racer yet, and it looks like a thrilling addition to the lineup of upcoming Star Wars games. Star Wars fans will get to step into the shoes of a pod racer when Star Wars Galactic Racer launches on October 6.
End of Abyss
End of Abyss looks like an interesting blend between games like Dead Space and Little Nightmares, but it has its own scuba-inspired twist. The look into End of Abyss‘ gameplay promises a creepy sci-fi horror story that is focused on exploration.
Last Harbor
The unique horror game trend continues with Last Harbor, a new zombie apocalypse game that takes place on a houseboat. Combining sea-faring survival with an impending zombie threat is a fun blend, and it’s expected to come out some time in 2027.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads
A new Virtua Fighter game is on the way, and it’s officially called Virtua Fighter Crossroads. The Virtua Fighter games have been incredibly influential on the entire fighting genre, so it will be interesting to see how Virtua Fighter Crossroads compares to past entries when it comes out in 2027.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Seeing Mafia: The Old Country at Summer Game Fest was a big surprise, and it’s all because a new DLC is coming out. The Man of Honor expansion features a young Don Salieri and is set to come out on August 14. Mafia: The Old Country‘s sales were modest, so it’s exciting to see that it’s still getting an expansion.
1666 Amsterdam
This one really shook up the event, because many viewers first believed that it was a first look at Assassin’s Creed Hexe. What’s so fascinating is that 1666 Amsterdam is by the original Assassin’s Creed creator. The game promises plenty of dark witch vibes, and a free playable prologue is currently available for gamers to check out.
Saw: Genesis
The Saw franchise is hopping on the asymmetrical horror game bandwagon with Saw: Genesis, and it looks just as grotesque and stomach-turning as the film series. The game features 3v1 gameplay, with three players taking on the role of survivors while one holds the fate of everyone in their hands.
Lords of the Fallen 2
Those who have been in the market for a new soulslike game to sink their teeth into will want to keep an eye out for Lords of the Fallen 2. This brutal action RPG promises intense combat and a dark world that is reminiscent of games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls.

Star Wars Zero Company was the second Star Wars game to get an exciting new spotlight. This upcoming turn-based strategy game is set to come out on August 27, and it’s even been confirmed that Anakin Skywalker is in Star Wars Zero Company.

There are a lot of games coming out in September 2026, and The Blood of Dawnwalker is one of the most intriguing of the bunch. Developed by Rebel Wolves, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows vampire/human hybrid Coen through a medieval world as he grapples with the reality of being cursed to a life of thirsting for blood.
Among Us Story: On Guard
Among Us Story: On Guard takes the original Among Us premise and leans even harder into the murder mystery aspect. Players take on the role of a security guard in this single-player spin-off and have to investigate murders. A new Among Us game was a surprising reveal, and it’s going to be even more exciting to find out its release date.
007 First Light
007 First Light just came out, but IO Interactive has already revealed that there is more coming to the successful James Bond game. A new 007 First Light DLC centered around a new Bawma mission will be the first update to expand the story with extra content.
Gothic 1 Remake
Summer Game Fest served as a massive stage for developer Alkimia Interactive to reveal that the Gothic 1 Remake is out now. This remake of the beloved 2001 action RPG gets a fresh coat of paint and updated gameplay and graphics, so it can be introduced to a brand-new audience.
Aion 2
The sequel to the popular free-to-play MMORPG is officially coming out, and the release date is sooner than some may have expected. Aion 2 will launch worldwide in September for PC.
Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk Edgerunners
This isn’t the first time gamers have heard about the Wuthering Waves Cyberpunk Edgerunners crossover, but the Summer Game Fest teaser offered a deeper look into what the collaboration has to offer. The crossover officially goes live on June 8.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds fans have some exciting content to look forward to next year. The Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion doesn’t have an official release date set in stone yet, but it’s already confirmed to have new weapon abilities, legendary monsters, and a brand-new location to explore.
Swords of Legends
Gamers got a heart-pounding preview of what Swords of Legends boss fights are going to be like with a showdown against Kong Kong Zi. The fight featured thrilling combat that is reminiscent of popular soulslike games, which means it’s bound to be a challenging, but rewarding, experience.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush
A new Hot Wheels game is on the way with Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, and it looks like it has all the ingredients to make it a fun new racing game. Complete with classic Hot Wheels obstacles and tracks, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is officially scheduled to launch September 24.
Sonic Racing: Crossworlds and Sonic Pico Park
The Sonic franchise turns 25 this year, and SEGA made two announcements at Summer Game Fest to celebrate the occasion. New Sonic Racing: Crossworlds crossovers with Godzilla and Evangelion on the way, and SEGA is even releasing a Sonic Pico Park game.
Attack on Titan 3
A new Attack on Titan game has been confirmed, and it’s going to be here really soon. Attack on Titan 3‘s release date is July 1, and the trailer featured plenty of action and showdowns with the titular Titans.
Clutch
Clutch is another new racing game on the way, and it looks like a drama-filled cinematic experience set for 2027. The game takes place in an open world that is centered around Monaco and the French Riviera. Clutch is developed by Maverick Games and is being spearheaded by Mike Brown, the creative director of Forza Horizon 5.
Chronicles: Medieval
For those who have been itching for more immersive medieval games, Chronicles: Medieval is a battlefield sandbox that allows players to build armies and fight toward victory during the era of the 100 Years’ War. It looks like a game that’s great for both history buffs and strategy lovers.
Sea of Remnants
This game was first announced last year, but this is the first big update that gamers have gotten about the project in a while. Sea of Remnants is a new pirate game that will have to go up against juggernaut Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, but its unique art direction and gameplay might help it stand out.
Palworld
It’s finally happening. The Palword 1.0 release date has been revealed, and it’s coming on July 10. Ever since the game first launched back in early 2024, one of the biggest questions surrounding the creature collection survival game is when it would have its full release. That question has finally been answered.
The Wolf Among Us 2
After years of waiting and potentially even losing hope, fans have finally gotten a long-awaited The Wolf Among Us 2 update and release window. The highly anticipated sequel is eyeing a 2027 launch, and there is even a remastered version of the first Wolf Among Us slated for the holiday season later this year.
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
2024’s Stellar Blade is already getting a sequel with Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. This Stellar Blade sequel is a standalone story and introduces a brand-new protagonist named Evie. As of now, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain does not have a release date.

Street Fighter 6 may be three years old at this point, but it had an exciting announcement to make about its new major update. Year 4 brings new Street Fighter 6 characters, including Tifa from Final Fantasy 7. In addition to Tifa are newcomers Arjun, Bosch, and Yasmine.

The Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy is officially coming to an end. Summer Game Fest closed out the showcase with a massive Final Fantasy 7 Revelation announcement, ending the event with a bang. There has been a lot of anticipation and hype surrounding this third and final chapter, and fans will finally get to experience the thrilling conclusion when Final Fantasy 7 Revelation launches Spring 2027.
