Revealed late last year, the release of PowerWash Simulator 2’s Adventure Time expansion is imminent. The DLC will introduce several elements from the iconic Cartoon Network TV show, remixing PowerWash Simulator 2 through some good, old-fashioned brand collaboration.
This isn’t out of the ordinary for the PowerWash Simulator franchise, although the Adventure Time pack is the first of its kind in PowerWash Simulator 2. Its predecessor collaborated with several beloved IPs, including Shrek and Final Fantasy 7, allowing players to clean such iconic locations as Shrek’s swamp and Seventh Heaven. This approach to crossover content isn’t a bad idea, given PowerWash Simulator’s premise; getting up close and personal with these familiar fictional environs while making them spick and span is an experience that only PowerWash can offer. And with Adventure Time kicking off the sequel’s DLC journey, it will be fascinating to see what developer FuturLab has in store for players.
Why One Unexpected Game May Be the Perfect Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Title
The Nintendo Switch 2’s first Nintendo Direct is right around the corner, and there’s one indie game that would be great to see on the launch line-up.
Five New Levels Set in the Adventure Time World Are Coming to PowerWash Simulator 2
While the exact level list of the Adventure Time DLC hasn’t been released, it’s been confirmed that it will contain five distinct zones to clean and explore. We know that the following locations will undeniably appear in the DLC, based on the content of its trailers:
- Finn and Jake Treehouse
- Ice King Castle
- Princess Bubblegum’s Castle
Players can likely expect these levels to be quite detailed, sprawling, and multifaceted. For instance, it looks like whatever level features Princess Bubblegum’s Castle (which itself will include distinct rooms to clean) will also include the surrounding Candy Kingdom homes and businesses, like Pizza Sassy’s. The base PowerWash Simulator 2 experience is defined by its impressive level design, so here’s hoping that translates into the Adventure Time expansion.

PowerWash Simulator 2’s DLC Has a Storyline Based Around Adventure Time Mainstays
People often don’t think of lore in conjunction with PowerWash Simulator, but the franchise does actually take some surprising swings at narrative design, and the Adventure Time DLC is no exception. Players control the Royal Candy Cleaners, delightfully cartoonish constructs created by Princess Bubblegum to hold back the tide of mess plaguing her kingdom. It looks like some of this mess can be attributed to the Ice King’s antics, but he doesn’t take credit for all of it.
Players probably shouldn’t expect too much in the way of hard-hitting or robust storytelling, of course: this is a DLC about powerwashing a cartoon world made of candy, after all. Still, the expansion seems to be leaning into the lore structure of the Adventure Time world, which is nice. Part and parcel of that is the expansion’s inclusion of beloved characters from the show, such as BMO and Jake (albeit in scissor lift form). Both PowerWash games are replete with fun Easter eggs and references, so this will probably be the form that most of the Adventure Time DLC’s storytelling takes.
In the Adventure Time DLC trailer, Princess Bubblegum says that she’s “experimented with new cleaning agents to make things even sparklier,” although it’s difficult to know if and how this will impact gameplay beyond a superficial level.
When Is PowerWash Simulator 2’s Adventure Time DLC Releasing?
PowerWash Simulator 2’s Adventure Time DLC is set to launch on April 9, 2026, and will be available on all platforms at the same time. It will retail for $7.99, which is the same price as each expansion pack for the first PowerWash Simulator. As such, we can probably anticipate that it will be similar in fashion and function to these earlier expansions, but hopefully with the added polish and scope that audiences have come to expect from the strong PowerWash sequel.
