Adrian has been writing, critiquing, and thinking about games since he first picked up an N64 controller many years ago. These days he writes reviews, news, and features for Game Rant and believes games should be held to the same artistic standards as books, movies, and television shows. When he’s not writing for Game Rant, Adrian writes even more reviews for Sirus Gaming and likes to get nerdy about tech and retro games at HackerNoon. Outside the gaming world, he spends plenty of time enjoying movies or listening to every genre of music under the sun. Follow him on Twitter for nonsense tweets likely related to Dragon Ball Z, or check out Breadhouse Records for some tunes.

Playground Games has delivered one of the most extensive looks at the upcoming Fable reboot, uploading a 30-minute extended demo video that dives into just about everything the fantasy RPG has to offer. Fable may have skipped its originally planned 2026 release, but in its absence, Playground Games has given fans plenty to explore as it marches toward release.

Fable: One Narrative Choice Could Make or Break the Protagonist

Playground Games still has quite a bit to reveal about its Fable reboot, but one aspect of its protagonist may be particularly pivotal.

Coming hot off the heels of its Xbox Games Showcase 2026 trailer, Playground Games has given fans a massive look at what’s coming next year with Fable‘s new 30-minute extended gameplay demo. The gameplay trailer plops viewers straight into the shoes of The Hero of Briar Hill as they explore Albion and almost immediately start a dialogue with a talking pig whose fate the Hero gets to decide. Most of the gameplay demo showcases tons of NPC interactions, showing that every character is unique and has their own thoughts and feelings about the Hero. Later on, the demo showcases some of the romance in Fable before the main character picks a fight in the middle of town. Fans of the franchise may be feeling like this is all reminiscent of classic Fable games.
