Fallen Feathers Sequel By New Studio Announced

Digital Bros, 505 Games’ parent company, has announced that developer Leenzee’s 2025 soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel–but said sequel won’t be developed by the original team at Leenzee.

However, the sequel will be directed by Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ creative lead, Xia Siyuan, under a newly formed studio named Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology. Exactly why Siyuan has shifted to a new studio, or how many of the original developers at Leenzee have moved with him to Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology, currently remains unclear.

That being said, this news does follow several reports, including one by Eurogamer in April 2026, that Siyuan parted ways with Leenzee towards the very end of 2025. Supposedly, the knock-on effect caused by Siyuan’s departure led to most of Leenzee’s core team leaving the studio in the same period of time.

WUCHANG’s story is far from over.

Today, we’re excited to share that 505 Games has officially entered into a new partnership with Xia Siyuan, the original creator of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, and his new studio Indolphinity (Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology), to jointly… pic.twitter.com/vrrMI9QRv5

That might explain why Wuchang: Fallen Feathers stopped receiving updates in November 2025, and it would definitely explain why Digital Bros and Siyuan have announced that the sequel will be headed by an entirely new dev team. And perhaps this might sound like a bit of a stretch, but I can’t help but think that the line “Wuchang’s story is far from over” in 505 Games’ announcement post on X is a cheeky way of addressing said reports.

“We listen closely to the real voices of players and the community, and we remain firmly devoted to our original creative aspirations and cultural foundations, striving to answer everyone’s long‑standing expectations with more polished quality and a more complete experience,” stated Siyuan in Digital Bros’ press release.

No word on exactly when we can expect Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, but the official press release on Digital Bros’ website states that an “initial investment” for the game amounts to 21.5 million euros (roughly $25 million), so it’s probably fair to assume that the full release is still some way off.
