Spoilers ahead for Fallout 76 Season 23.
No matter what time of year it is, Fallout 76 players always have something to chase. For the most dedicated fans, it’ll be four-star gear from Fallout 76’s raid. For cozy gamers, it’ll be plans to expand their Fallout 76 CAMP. And for those that love to dress up and socialize, there are plenty of memorable outfits to acquire, whether it be a costume based on the Sheepsquatch cryptid or numerous attires to rep the Nuka Cola brand. Fallout 76’s Seasons cater to all of these groups, as by completing challenges and racking up SCORE, gamers can get tickets to exchange for items based on a specific theme.
The mini-Season themed around morgues just concluded, and the full Appalachian Modern Living Season is set to conclude on December 2. Once it does, it will make way for Season 23, which is called “Blood and Rust.” The items in this Fallout 76 Season will be themed around Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout Season 2, and Burning Springs, the long-awaited map expansion that takes gamers to Ohio. There are plenty of fun items that have been datamined for this Season, which can be viewed on NukaKnights, though there are a few outfits in particular that really stand out and will likely be prioritized by players.
The Biggest Winner of Fallout 76 Season 23 Was Rigged From the Start
One of the items in the upcoming Fallout 76 Season that will immediately catch the eye of players is the “Checkered Suit Outfit.” While all the nods to the Dino Peaks location that will be featured within Fallout 76’s take on Ohio are extremely cute, for franchise veterans, this formal wear is untouchable. This is the exact outfit worn by Benny, a side antagonist from Fallout: New Vegas who was responsible for shooting the Courier and kickstarting their adventure through the Mojave Wasteland. Voiced to perfection by the late Matthew Perry, Benny has become a source of memes and a figure players remember fondly, as there are numerous ways they can go about getting revenge (or granting forgiveness). With this outfit, players will be able to role-play as Benny, display an homage to New Vegas in their homes, or simply dress sharply for a trip to Atlantic City.
While Benny’s suit is impossible to top, New Vegas fans will also appreciate the Edison Power Armor, as it’s a beautiful, modern take on New Vegas’ Gannon Family Tesla Armor. The Pimp-Boy can also be acquired, which is another terrific way to celebrate New Vegas’ big anniversary.
Fallout 76’s Season 23 Runner-Up is a Flashy Take on the Cowboy Aesthetic
With Fallout Season 2 set to explore New Vegas, The Ghoul will forever be linked to the location. While players will soon be able to interact with the popular gunslinger in Fallout 76, as he will assign Burning Springs bounty hunts, those looking to role-play as him will want to snag the pale blue and yellow Vault-Tec Cowboy outfit. Sure, it’s not a perfect match for the Season 1 cowboy getup worn by pre-Ghoul Cooper Howard, as the blue is a different shade and it lacks the tassels across the chest, but it’s the next best thing. Beyond that, it just looks great, resembling an official clothing piece released by Bethesda in real life (while also coming with a matching hat). Plus, it’ll shine even brighter when paired with Season 23’s unique new weapon.
In Season 23, Fallout 76 players will be able to wield The Ghoul’s custom revolver, which will be named Dom Pedro in the Bethesda game. The weapon’s name is a nod to an off-screen character mentioned in Season 1, and given the effectiveness of the killing tool in that same Season, this hand cannon could prove to be a must-use weapon for those looking to survive in Burning Springs. For role-players, things only get better, as they can essentially roleplay Cooper’s entire journey from man to Ghoul. They can start off in the Vault-Tec Cowboy outfit, playing until level 50 while making choices that Cooper would the entire way. They can then become a Ghoul in Fallout 76, trading out the slightly Cooper-like Vault-Tec outfit for a more traditional cowboy getup and altering their personality to match.
These are hardly the only good unlocks players can soon chase in Fallout 76, as other neat Season 23 items include:
- Rusty Nail collars for cats and dogs
- A Lykoi cat CAMP pet
- A Lawn Mower perfect for clean house builds
- A Vault-Tec modular sofa that players can piece together however they see fit
- Ghoul Vault Boy and Vault Girl lamps
- A bathroom scale pressure plate
- A raderized truck pre-fab
- A Cobby Collectron that produces corn and other useful food items
- Dozens of raider-themed CAMP decorations
Still, as solid as all of these items are, dressing up as New Vegas‘ Benny or becoming a Vault-Tec cowboy that wields The Ghoul’s signature weapon feel like the most desirable unlocks this Season.
