Gamers might have to make some tough decisions when it comes to purchasing new games in 2027, as the year will kick off with at least five anticipated AAA titles, including God of War: Laufey and Fable, releasing in February. During the same period in 2026, there were only a couple of notable releases, including Resident Evil Requiem and the 2D God of War spin-off Sons of Sparta.
Gamers already have a pretty busy schedule in the final quarter of 2026. Apparently, GTA 6‘s November release has pushed many competitors to choose September and October for their launches, making these two months stacked with sought-after titles. However, there seems to be no rest for game enthusiasts, as February is also packed with games that will have gamers reaching for their wallets.

There is one AAA game coming out every week throughout February 2027. The first week starts with Metro 2039‘s anticipated release on February 4. After that, the Tomb Raider remake launches on February 12, only for God of War: Laufey to follow on February 16. As if these were not enough to deplete gamers’ bank accounts, February 18 will see the release of another highly anticipated remake, Persona 4 Revival, and on February 23, Fable hits consoles and PC.

Except for Metro 2039 and God of War: Laufey, pre-orders have begun for all other notable games coming in February 2027, including Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Persona 4 Revival, and Fable. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers could be considered lucky, as at least two of these games are joining the subscription on day one. Fable and Persona 4 Revival have been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass, giving subscribers a chance to play them at no additional cost.
The back-to-back AAA releases in February 2027 actually make January’s schedule look pretty basic, despite having at least four important titles. January 2027 will see the release of Ananta, which many have dubbed the anime GTA 6. Until Dawn 2 also launches in the same month, preceded by Tropic 7. There is also Stranger Than Heaven, the game from the creators of the Like a Dragon franchise, coming on January 15.
Interestingly, February’s busy schedule is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to major AAA releases in 2027. Gamers should expect to see even more anticipated launches throughout the year, with sought-after games like Kingdom Hearts 4, Final Fantasy 7 Revelations, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, and Pokemon Winds and Waves all planning to hit the shelves in 2027.
