The upcoming Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S ports of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will feature 13 Streamlined Progression cheats that will give players some options to break the game as they see fit, according to game director Naoki Hamaguchi on social media. Some of these Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth cheats will allow players to trivialize battles, and others will grant maximum resources.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘s new ports were announced just weeks after Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade was released on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The Switch 2 port was confirmed during the February 5 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, while the Xbox port was announced immediately following the broadcast. Pre-orders for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Switch 2 and Xbox are now available at various retailers for $50. Pre-orders of the Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will also include a Zack Fair promo card from Magic: The Gathering‘s Final Fantasy crossover set, while supplies last. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Switch 2 and Xbox launches June 3.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is Bringing Back Streamlined Progression
Just as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade introduced Streamlined Progression to make navigating the game much easier, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will feature 13 new options that players can use to break the game. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth game director Naoki Hamaguchi shared two short videos on Twitter of how these cheats can synergize with one another. After accessing Streamlined Progression in the Options menu, players can enable cheats like Constant Max Synergy, ATB Gauge Always Full, and Constant Max Damage to quickly defeat most foes with a Synergy Attack. A brief demonstration from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘s tutorial showed this combination in action, as Cloud and Sephiroth unleashed a barrage of attacks that dealt 9,999 damage per hit on a single enemy.
Hamaguchi added that one of the new Streamlined Progression cheats coming to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will allow players to deal maximum damage per hit during mini-games. Hamaguchi demonstrated this new option by sharing a short video of Yuffie taking on a Cactuar Crush trial challenge. Once the Max Damage: Minigames cheat was enabled in the Options menu, each of Yuffie’s Ninjutsu attacks dealt a consistent 9,999 damage to each Cactuar. Ergo, players looking to beat some of the game’s tougher trials can use this new cheat to meet the target scores quickly. Along with Streamlined Progression being available on the Switch 2 and Xbox ports of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the current PS5 and PC versions of the game should receive these cheats via a patch that should be released around the same time as the upcoming ports.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Cheats Will Get Players Caught Up Before Part 3
Some Streamlined Progression toggles will allow players to keep resources like Gil and recovery items consistently topped off. However, it is worth noting that Streamlined Progression should not invalidate most attempts by Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players to get some of the game’s trophies and achievements. However, if Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade‘s version of Streamlined Progression is any indicator, the Max Materia Levels cheat could interfere with obtaining the achievement “A Materia World.” Given how powerful Streamlined Progression is, it remains to be seen how quickly some Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth playthroughs can be completed.
Given that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth each require over 30 hours to complete, the addition of Streamlined Progression has made it much easier for players looking to catch up on the main story. As anticipation for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 continues to grow, it remains to be seen how many new and returning Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players will utilize Streamlined Progression to complete some of the game’s more daunting challenges.
