Epic Games has confirmed that there are no intentions of delaying the start of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. Fortnite has several modes, but Battle Royale is what most fans would consider the main game mode. It has an elaborate storyline, its quests are diverse and complex, it has tons of weapons, and its Battle Pass features the most cosmetic items. That is why gamers are particularly excited whenever it is time for a new season of Battle Royale — it means that they will get access to new named locations, the storyline progresses around whatever its new theme is, and they also receive all sorts of new weapons and cosmetics.
There have been over 30 Battle Royale seasons in Fortnite. It comes as no surprise; the game mode launched in September 2017, so it has been live for nearly a decade. The current Battle Royale season has been dubbed Fortnite Showdown, and it is the second season in Chapter 7. This season started on March 19, 2026, so gamers have had a few weeks to experience its unique weapons and mechanics. Players have been working hard to get enough XP to unlock all Battle Pass cosmetics before the end of the season, but sometimes it is hard to get all of them in time, especially the Super Styles.
Rumor: Fortnite Festival Set to Release Major Feature This Week
Rumors indicate that Fortnite Festival will soon receive a major feature that will change the mode forever and potentially attract new fans.
Epic Games Says Chapter 7 Season 3 Will Not Be Delayed
Rumors that Chapter 7 Season 3 might start later than expected were going around the Fortnite community, as the seasonal Ranked Quests were extended to June 21. Players were expecting the season to end on June 5, as it was the date shown for the end of the Chapter 7 Season 2 Battle Pass. Since Ranked Quests are released at the start of a season and expire when it ends, players immediately thought that Season 3 would be delayed. Epic Games responded to one of the news accounts that shared this information on Twitter, letting them know that, at the moment, there were no intentions of pushing back the launch of Chapter 7 Season 3.
According to Epic, it changes quest expiration dates for development and testing, and it is by no means an indication of a delay. It is unknown what this means for these quests, since Ranked Quests and rewards are often associated with the current season.
If the next season were to be delayed and the current season got an extension, it would mean that the Chapter 7 Season 2 Acts and live event would all happen later in the month of June. Additionally, players would have more time to level up, and eventually work towards unlocking bonus rewards, such as the Super Styles.

Even though there are currently no indicators that these dates may change, it’s not uncommon for Epic Games to change a scheduled update. For now, patches will go live on the dates specified in the current Fortnite update roadmap. If any unexpected changes occur, Epic Games will surely notify the community.
