Epic Games has added a countdown to the Fortnite lobby, revealing that downtime for the upcoming season is expected to end at 7 AM ET. The Simpsons mini-season was replaced by Chapter 7, which introduced players to a new map, as is usual when there is a Fortnite chapter renewal. Each chapter is usually separated into four different seasons, each lasting about three to four months. Since Chapter 7 Season 1 started in late November, the time for a season renewal is now closer than ever, and fans are excited to see what’s coming next.
With the launch of Chapter 7 Season 2 only a few days away, Epic Games has released a few teasers and trailers to give players hints of what they can expect this upcoming season. For now, they know that the Dark Voyager and the Ice King will be the main antagonists, and The Foundation, played by The Rock, will return to the island, but not much else has been revealed. By paying attention to details in these videos, players have concluded that the Dark Voyager will be teaming up with the Ice King, the Foundation’s Rift Sniper will be added at last, and the Ice King will have a themed named location called Frigid Fortress.

Fortnite is collaborating with Crimson Desert for its launch, and some players can even claim free cosmetics.
Fortnite Countdown Reveals When Servers Will Come Back Up for New Season
To further tease the upcoming season, Epic Games added an in-game countdown to the lobby, revealing that fans would be able to play Chapter 7 Season 2 once it reaches zero. The countdown on the Fortnite lobby screen ends on March 19 at 7 AM ET, so players should be able to load Fortnite back up around this time. Downtime tends to begin at 4 AM ET, so the developers are hopeful that the new season will only require three hours of downtime before the servers are ready to come back online.
When Does Downtime for Chapter 7 Season 2 End?
It has been known that the season would end on March 19 since the Chapter 7 Season 1 Battle Pass became available, as the BP page reveals how long fans have to complete it before it expires. However, gamers are usually left in the dark once downtime begins. Once all the game files are decrypted and leaks are posted, fans have to wait indefinitely until servers come back online. This time around, this won’t be an issue, as they know exactly when they’re scheduled to return.
It is possible that Epic Games will see a decrease in player numbers on the release date, as many players are planning to boycott Fortnite on release day. Players are unhappy with the V-Bucks price increase and have pledged to stay clear of the game during the launch of the season, usually a major day for Epic Games. Many others have commented that they will continue to play Fortnite but will no longer purchase V-Bucks until the changes have been reverted.
Players who are thinking about getting the Fortnite Crew Pack or have to purchase a V-Bucks pack in order to obtain the Battle Pass should make all of their in-game purchases before Chapter 7 Season 2 begins. On March 19, the changes being made to V-Bucks will go live alongside the launch of the new season. Therefore, players will start paying a higher price for their V-Bucks and receive fewer Crew Pack benefits if they make purchases on launch day or after. Save the World Founders will be happy to know that they will still be able to make the same amount of V-Bucks by completing daily quests and timed missions. Due to the decrease in the price of the Battle Pass, they actually won’t have to grind as much to get the required in-game currency to get it.
