The Fortnite x Avatar event will be coming to an end soon, but when exactly?

When Does Downtime for v29.40 Start?
The 2024 Star Wars event will be added to Fortnite with update v29.40. While updates tend to be released on Tuesday, that is not the case this time around, as patch v29.40 was scheduled for Friday instead, giving players additional time to complete the Elements Pass. On top of this, it will also be released on a date closer to May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day among its community. Update v29.40 launches on Friday, May 3, but before the patch goes live, fans will have to wait until downtime is over.
Downtime for v29.40 will start at 2 AM ET. However, in order to avoid players being kicked out in the middle of a match, matchmaking will be disabled about 30 minutes before then. This means that gamers have until around 1.30 AM ET to complete as many Avatar Quests and unlock the Appa glider in Fortnite before the event comes to an end.
When Does the Star Wars Event Begin in Fortnite?
The Star Wars event will begin once downtime is over and servers go back up. Since this will be a major update with tons of new content, gamers might have to wait longer than usual to start Fortnite, and they may encounter a queue when attempting to log in. Nevertheless, it is likely that fans will be able to hop into their first match around 6 or 7 AM ET and experience the Star Wars crossover. However, not everything will be available right away.
According to Epic Games’s official blog post on the event, the Item Shop will refresh as soon as the update is released, but Star Wars Quests will only be made available 9 AM ET. This means that gamers will have immediate access to Star Wars content in LEGO Fortnite, themed Battle Royale items, and cosmetics, but they won’t be able to complete quests or even make progress until later.
