Forza Horizon 6 Devs Deleting Stolen Credits From Hummer Exploit

Forza Horizon 6 Devs Deleting Stolen Credits From Hummer Exploit

For the last few days, some Forza Horizon 6 players have been using a strange and oddly specific glitch to trigger an exploit that paid out tens of millions of credits in minutes. But the fun time is over. The developers at Playground Games are aware of this naughty method and have not only made changes to stop the cheating, but they’ve also deleted all the stolen cash from players’ in-game bank accounts.

Sometime last week, some Forza Horizon 6 players discovered that by using a specific Hummer and setup, they could make the vehicle go so fast that it glitched out. Combining this with the multiplayer Eliminator game mode could, if done correctly, lead to massive payouts of over 20 million credits after simply exiting before the match was over. It was an incredibly fast and relatively easy, if not a bit bizarre, way to reach 999 million credits in Forza Horizon 6.

But everyone involved with the exploit predicted that developer Playground Games would find out what was going on soon enough and ban the obviously broken trick ASAP. Some even began buying up cars, worried that the credits would get rolled back. They were smart because that’s exactly what happened.

On June 13, Forza Horizon 6 temporarily removed the Eliminator mode from the game. Then, on June 15, the studio published an FAQ about the mode and the exploit and confirmed it was removing all the ill-gotten credits. Fortunately for those who abused it, however, no one who engaged in the Hummer trick is getting banned.

“Players found participating in the exploit will have their accounts restored to a maximum of 10 million credits,” said the Forza team. “As this error was on our side, no further action will be taken. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we take steps to preserve the integrity of the in-game economy.”

To make up for removing an entire mode, which won’t be back until a future hotfix that will “address the credits exploit,” Playground Games is giving everyone a free car. All Forza Horizon 6 players will be gifted a 2021 McLaren Sabre. It will be sent to everyone’s garages once the mode is back and the credits exploit is patched up.
